Warm welcome to h2g2 from me...
My name is loup.dargent and I am one of the <./>ACEs</.> [Assistant Community Editors] who welcome newcomers and show them around the site...
Some links you might want to click on:
<./>DontPanic-Tour </.>... just in case...
[Actually, it is _also_ a tour of h2g2 explaining/showing what the site is about... So it is worth reading it _even_ if you are not panicking...
]
A690518 ... with tips on how to spice up your page....
A1020592 ... another entry on how to brighten your page...
<./>ThePost</.> ... our virtual weekly newspaper...
<./>FRONTPAGE</.> ... for the... err... front page...
<./>smileys</.> ... with a list of... yep, you guessed it... smileys...
A719840 ... some interesting links there as well...
<./>info</.> shows you the convos going on right now plus some other stats...
Whatever your interests, chances are that you will find some stuff with infos on them or/and like minded people on here... Just let me know and I will do my best to provide you with the relevant links...
?!
Another place that you might like to visit is <./>AskH2G2</.>...
A1355195 ... this one could also be useful if one day you want to submit an Entry to the Edited Guide and/or the UnderGuide...
Don't hesitate to visit my personal space [that can be done by clicking on my name at the top of this message or/and on U200238] and leave a message... or click on the reply button at the bottom of this posting...
Talk soon...
loup
PS: If you visit my personal space and see your screen name appearing in some parts of my intro, do not be surprised or/and worried... It's the result of a gimmick called tag which makes each visitor to my space see their own name...

Thank you for the welcoming.
I plan on contributing an entry or two for the guide. Any pointers you would want to reveal to a newcomer?

for the delay in replying... I'm one of those unfortunate people who work nights _and_ weekends...
Two of the pointers [to start with] would be:
Not writing in the first person if you want an entry to be considered for the Edited Guide...
Trying to make the Entry as factual as possible...
Talk soon...

Okay, thanks! I'll keep them in mind.
I presume the money you make must go to something very important the way you work for it.
Me, I'm attending school in Finland ( I've also lived there my whole life). For you to get a better picture of where I reside in the eductional system lets say I'll take my equivalent to the A-levels in the spring of next year.
Now back to my precious homework with a by my side.

It sure goes to something important as most of it is spent on my kids...
And whatever left is also for getting a faster computer eventually...
I don't mind the work itself... especially as the people I'm working with are ok...
I just don't seem to be able to make the best of that free time I'm getting during the day at the moment... Which is frustrating as that was why I took that night job: to have some time during the day to do things I like... Never mind... I might be able to reduce the number of nights I'm working soon anyway... Might make a difference....
A levels [or equivalent anyway], hey?!... [Would it be the equivalent of the Baccalaureat?!] All the best for the exam [in advance]...
There should be some pages on the BBCi site which might help as well... Worth a look...
Talk soon...
