I had always thought that ladies just approaching maturity acted with a little more dignity and decorum. Especially proper British ladies. Perhaps the TV has fibbed to me? I mean really, shaking, jiggling, ing and just plain having serious fun, and all while I had to . Hardly fair.

16, huh? A magic number apparently as I recall B'Elana posting a similar duration a while back. For me, early September, '87 was the perfect weather, summer was done so that vacationing family could attend.

Daughters are from the First Marriage...only decent this to happen!

Pete should have had children too...but thought it might spoil his relationship with the girls. So it was decided we would not try for one for ourselves.

Apparently, your decisions worked well. Mavis is obviously from my first, also the only positive aspect. Cheryl is my second and, as she states definitively, my last. (Have I mentioned that she has been a professional cook and VERY good with sharp implements?)

Perhaps after meeting VV, he also thought that more off-spring from you could be dangerous to the world at-large?

I know, she seems to be a sweetie, I just had to slip in a little jibe

Poor Pete... He came across them just before their teenage years! While they were still sweet and pliable!!

Then the evil monsters appeared overnight!! Pete was giving them leeway and I ended up dragging them back in again! They always tried to overstep the mark as far as I was concerned...bearing in mind I was a one parent family for 6 years before I met Pete! So I had to be strong or the girls would have run me ragged!

Pete took them to their first pub gigs and introduced them to a nice crowd who took them under their wings! Ex Rockers and things like that! You would have had a fit if you met them...but they were very good and behaved for the most part with the girls!

They were always very polite to me!

They call him Pete or Dad...which ever comes to mind at the time!

Daddeeeeeee if they are after something (you should recognise that one!)

All in all the four of us have been very lucky... it's not always been easy.. money was not always readily available. But we have for the most part been extremely happy!

Oh yes, I immediately recognize the transition from "Dad" to "Daddyyyy". I usually sit down on my wallet very quickly and firmly. I congratulate all of you for having found your way through what was probably very tricky terrain at times. You should be quite proud.
Mavis has always been a dear with me, even though from age 1, she was raised by a Nan (grandmother), some of her boarders and then at 8 and beyond, by her Mom. (Mom had finally had enough of the water-front pubs, etc. No further details required, I hope) Since Mavis met Cheryl, they have been pretty good friends, until about 5 years ago. For some reason, she changed from Cheryl to Mom (or Mommyyyyyy). They enjoy all the pleasant aspects of mother-daughter and none of the minor bickering or disagreements of blooded-relationships. In all, I feel we are also very lucky to have a great balance going.
Anyway, go back to your frolicing and stuff. I must work some more.
