Eh.... you don't suppose it could be one of Shazz's nasty viruses? I tried editing entries in all 3 skins in 3 browsers (Opera, IE, Netscape) today, and had no problem at all...

No, it isn't - Jim has been helping TM and I and we seem to have sorted out the problem, hopefully. It's to do with packet sizes and time-outs. The one and only virus I got was a particularly nasty one which executed itself without me opening any files - I have so much virus scanner software on here now I doubt anything could get through! 
I have been adding entries and editing all night.

I think she may have the same problem that TM and I had - something to do with the size of packages of code which are limited by the MU setting - can you tell I'm not very technically minded?
Why it should suddenly happen to Greebo over the weekend is a mystery, although that is exactly how it happened to me. One moment everything was fine, the next problems!
Although it isn't a widespread problem, I have heard of a few more researchers having the same on h2g2...
I just hope my luck continues, I have done quite a lot of adding entries and editing tonight just for the sheer pleasure of being able to do it again.

It seems to be working again... been in touch with the AOL people... and they helped me sort out the problem .. well at least its working... YAY!!!!

Before I forget : if you have a separate router between your pc and the web check the manual instead. It's much easier that way
