The Dustyroads of Arkansas
As a traveler in 'almost out of time' I've been docked in Mountain View Arkansas for the last fifteen light years.(only, half the time its been night.)so maybe in that case I've only been here seven and a half years. Of course I can't be quite sure of that, since at night I'm generally asleep,and who knows, where I'm at then. A city of appx.3800 people nestled in ( actually it's more like clinging too) the Ozark mountain range.The community has over the years been a gathering place for musicans most recently those of the bluegrass persuasion.(In the sixtys the hippys smoked the place with rock&roll)Choosing up sides to smell armpits they form groups 'UP ON THE SQUARE'around the courthouse and play and visit. There are two yearly festivals that take place here, the Folk festival in the spring that caters to those interested in crafts( where one might find a 'tuit'a thinly sliced cross section of dowel wood engraved as such.Which any procastinator worth his salt fears of being presented. Since the bearer is no longer able to postpone what ever it was he or she was suppose to do by saying 'when I get a round to it'.) as well as the musicans picking and grinning an array of folk music. And the Bean festival in the Fall, although I don't actually recall ever seeing a bean field, I have seen numerous fields of rocks.(perhaps it should have been called a Rock festival? but then that might confuse the muscians to the point of them not showing, and then what would we do with all those cauldrons of cooked beans and corn bread.The highlight of the Bean festival is the 'outhouse' races where homemade outhouse's on wheels are built by local shop keepers and pushed in a circle around the court house the winners recieving the coveted trophy to display in thier shop for the year. greetings Y'all dustyroadsConversations
