Corrie - hope your has gone and that you are now in fine fettle!
This is a wonderful place - I am so glad that you all pointed me in the right direction over here!
The CB & R2 looks OK during the day, but then after 6pm, when the rest of us are enjoying our or as the sun passes over the yardarm, they turn into war areas!
The man-in-doors is going out shortly, so I'll be around this evening!

Hi,
Thanks the headache has gone. Definately need an early night though.
What are you reading at the moment?

Hi Corrie
have just finished the second James Patterson - Alex Cross - novel - gripping, although am not too sure about reading them at 3am! but they are just so unputtable downable
Am re-reading Patricia Cornwell, Cruel and Unusual, before reading the second Stephanie Plum novel (the main character being easier to spell than the author!)
I am really into crime/psychological thriller stuff - which does my nerves no good at all, and my fertile imagination just runs riot at every creak of the house on a dark and rainy night! Copious amounts of alcohol usually set my mind at rest though !
So I am sat here in my office - it's quite cosy really - I've got Dido playing on the computer, 'cos I can't be bothered to get up to change CD's! and watching the antics in 'the other' place, reading my book and chatting with you - Monday evenings are great!
What are you reading - I do like being able to swap info about books - whenever we go on holiday I take a whole pile of books - we went to Sardinia for a week a couple of years ago - it was an 8 book holiday! !
Am always on the lookout for new authors - just finished reading all the Tom Clancy, Jack Ryan books, thoroughly enjoyed them! and have got a couple of the netscaper series - well into the future!

Hiya Ruth,
Cruel and Unusual is my favourite PC novel. Thought Blow Fly was a bit disappointing, as for her theories about Jack the Ripper.
I've given up on one book that a friend lent to me. At the moment I'm reading Seven Up by JE. It's taking a while because I've been on here too much!
Really enjoying learning about GuideML and spicing up pages. Always go great guns at stuff but then by the time I've conquered them I am bored and move on. Last summer my dad said he wanted to know something about a relative from the past. Two weeks later we had had two family reunions and I managed to trace my dad's family back to 1763. Was at it almost 24/7. Bored: two weeks of slog, dad happy, wonderful information for the children, but I'd had enough.
Same when I find a new author - need to find every single book and read them all. Have loved every Ian Rankin book and love Patricia Cornwell (until last 2 as I said). Quentin Jardine is quite good too. Thanks for the tip about Tom Clancy and Jack Ryan. I really would love my own cafe/book shop. Can dream! When I get bored (if perhaps) I can sell it and make some money.

...thank goodness it's not just me and reading every single novel by an author!
My Mother, when she comes to stay, doesn't bring any books with her, just reads ones that are on the shelf!
Some of them are in the loft at the moment, as the 'den' became the office, and reading books had to make way for work books; but am designing book shelves into the hallway and our bedroom, when the man-in-doors finally finishes building a barn and starts work on our end of terrace !
I too can get tunnel vision about things - to the state that I wake up at ungodly hours of the morning, and just can't get back to sleep until I've done something about it. This happens mostly when I'm writing training courses - I guess my subconscious goes into play with all kinds of great ideas, and at 4am I'm awake and buzzing - so it's onto the computer and get it all written - then when that's done I'm completely exhausted and end up going back to bed at 2pm for an afternoon nap!
Thanks for the new author - someone else to put on my list!

You are a bit like me then! I've got to do it when it comes into my mind.
We're going to build some bookshelves. We've got boxes still unpacked in our attic, after five years!

Shame I can't be so single minded when it comes around to doing something that I don't like: housework, sales and marketing, laundry, ironing

Hallo Milord,
The hot toddy worked a treat, much better to-day, thank you.
Life is on the up and up. New fence being erected as we speak. Drain people coming tomorrow. Air lock in hot water tap gone, video fixed. bulb in hard to reach lamp renewed.
Phew! What a relief.
Beautiful weather as well, what more do we want?
O.K. then, glass of please. Perfect.
HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN

Hello FBN,
How was the ? Glad the hot toddy worked and that you're feeling better. Perhaps we'll get some R2 DJ's in here, I believe there's a few of them with dodgy throats right now!

Hi
Yes, I noticed some DJ's have colds and bad throats.Obviously they haven't heard about our bar.
I've been feeling so good, I had to celebrate all by myself, and funny how when you drink 2 glasses of wine on your own you get all tired and sleepy. When you're dancing and laughing it doesn't have that affect.
Wish I could lie in bed and take part in the chat at the same time.
Oh well!
See you

Good Evening m'lud
Thank you ever so for the ,
Well it's nearly time to go and make the sandwiches for the man's lunch - best had as he's been out all evening making sure the Scouts don't burn themselves cooking bananas on open fires!
It's amazing how quickly the time goes in this cyberfield - although I have got some bits of work done between postings!
How is your ?

Hello Twurlit?
slipped down a treat!
The time does pass quickly if you really get stuck into something on the internet. Before I know it I find I'm having an unscheduled late night!
Hope the scouts managed to avoid cooking themselves as well as the bananas!
Kind Regards

Good Evening Everyone
, here's to good days and springtime!
A large glass of ice cold white wine will go down a treat, thank you m'lud.
Well the Scouts managed to stay unburnt, last evening, I had a great day at work today - the company I went to see accepted my price for consultancy work by the hour without a flicker, and booked 2 training days for April - great stuff! - and more work to come.
On the journey home around the M25, the traffic was stationary, in the opposite direction (makes a change), so all in all a good day!
And now I'm home, plugged into the laptop, (catching up with all your messages and news) whilst him in doors watches Grand Designs (he's a builder, so I guess it's homework!), the fire is on and it's nice and cosy. Outside the fog is beginning to fall - probably because it's been a warm day and we live near a river - so spring is definitely here!
So to you all, my friends!
Ruth
