Think I'll eat at my desk

We got an email message at w*rk yesterday:

Good afternoon.

Some of you may know that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 is released this Friday. It has been approved for the ladies of PartnerShip to take an extended lunch and go watch the movie! There is a 12:10 show at Crocker Park on Friday. We will probably have to purchase tickets online at fandango before the movie so we can secure our entrance. Please let me know if you are interested in going.

Thank you!

Quite frankly, this is a tough dilemma! I'd like a long lunch, but barring a dentist appointment, there aren't many worse ways of spending it!

It's nice to know that I w*rk for a place that is willing to give their employees a treat, but it's disheartening to know that I w*rk with a bunch of 14 year old girls.

Oh my head!

I've been having a rough time of it lately. I've had migraines for decades, but lately they've become more frequent, like every other day. I started getting vertigo as well in the past few years. A few months ago, I had the worst vertigo attack yet, and it all started with a bad migraine. It even sent me to the emergency room. They did a CAT scan of my head, and found nothing (old joke, but how can I resist?).

The past few weeks, I have more headaches than not. smiley - headhurts Both migraines and regular headaches. I saw a neurologist earlier this week, who thinks the migraines and vertigo are linked. I'm now on a migraine preventative medication, but it takes about two weeks for it to start working fully.

The smiley - doctor wanted me to get an MRI brain scan to check things out. I had no worries about getting it done, just about what they might find. I found out that I'm horribly claustrophobic! Oh my, that was one of the worst experiences of my life (and that's saying something!). I couldn't do it. I toughed it out as long as I could, but they only got one picture.

So now I have to go back, and I just can't stop thinking about it. My heart pounds if I think back on what happened. I cried for over an hour after the MRI on Thing, and actually had to have a drink at 9am to calm me down (I don't drink!). The technician told me to get in touch with the smiley - doctor to get meds and try it again at another Cleveland Clinic location with a larger MRI. I don't think I can do it. But I have to.

Has anybody else had problems with claustrophobia? Any coping mechanisms for me? I feel so inadequate after this. Like I'm weak and silly.

So, here we are!

Here's hoping the new hootoo is as wonderful as the old hootoo!

Funny, but I haven't been frequenting hootoo as much as I used to, but with it MIA for a while, I was missing it and feeling like there's something missing in the world.

I'll be sure to drop by more often. Now, I'm just going to drop off ... smiley - zzz

Veggies!

Yesterday TJ and I finally put the finishing touches on the veggie garden by putting up "trellises" for the cukes to climb up. My heirloom smiley - tomatos that I started from seed are doing spectacularly! Hopefully I can make lots and lots of salsa this year!

Tonight we're going to enjoy our first harvest of the season. Buttercrunch lettuce for our salads!

Well, hello!

I know that I've been bouncing back here once in a while, but seeing what's happening at hootoo, and looking around, I think I'll settle in again.

What's been happening?

Well, I got laid off in Jan. 2009. Not a good thing, as we had taken TJ's Mom into our home so we could be caregivers. I had time, but we were short on money! I have to say, if it wasn't for the money, I would have enjoyed the time off more!

The whole caregiving thing didn't turn out well, and my MIL moved back to her home after living with us for 9 months. She just wanted to be home. Luckily, TJ's siblings stepped up and have been caring for her.

With all of my free time, and my lovely large yard, I started my first veggie garden, and found that I love gardening! I even started doing some canning, if you can believe it! Pickles and salsa are my two specialties.

I finally got a "temporary part time" position in October 2010. Very low pay, and rather far to commute, but it closed the gap in my resume. So I took it. Nobody there was happy. It was a miserable place to w*rk. There was very little talking. They had me training everybody in Flash, so I got to talk with a few of them, but it really wasn't great.

Thank goodness, after job hunting for over 2 years, I finally got a full-time position at a wonderful place! Almost too good to be true! I love it so far. I'm just finishing my first month there. Happy, friendly people, w*rk that I love, and 2 1/2 miles from home. Pretty good! Unfortunately, they're moving a half an hour away in the middle of July. That's my luck! smiley - biggrin

TJ and I are still together, still very much in smiley - love and happy! So, I have people who love me, a job, and a home! Can't ask for a lot more than that! smiley - smiley

It's nice to be back, hootoo!
