Thank you all for stopping by with your good wishes! You're the bestest! I feel guilty for not stopping by sooner. We were busy all weekend, and then I was too busy at w*rk yesterday to come here!

I guess the loss of function in my wrist hasn't been as much of a concern for me since the surgery, because the pain had diminished so much! It's wonderful to be at the end of a w*rk day, and when I stop w*rking, the pain stops! It used to hurt all of the time, and driving home was awful. I'd have to do it one-handed because I couldn't hold the steering wheel. I can drive two-handed again! Yay! I'll just have to do what I have to do in short increments ... either that, or learn how to paint with the brush clutched between my teeth!

Hypatia, I filed the original Workers Comp suit in 1999, so it's been dragging on for a while! After the doctor said that I needed surgery, it took me a year and a half to get the Workers Comp insurance company to okay it.

I just got a letter from the Workers Comp Board outlining what they're going to do. They came up with the brilliant solution of addressing it to me with my maiden and married names. I hope they didn't crash their computer! I'm now also very glad that I didn't hire a lawyer! The letter said that if I had, the lawyer's payment would have come out of the settlement! Somehow I don't think $3500 would have been enough. It may have taken longer, but at least it didn't cost me anything!
