YAY!!! We heard from each other!
We don't get any time off for Easter ... except the usual Sunday! We're going to spend the day with my parents, my sister, and her husband out at my folk's house. I'm taking the next day off because my Mets have their Opening Day. I never miss Opening Day of the baseball season! I hope it warms up, because we like to have a tailgate party in the parking lot before the game, with a barbecue and everything, and it's been very cold and rainy lately!
My husband's knees tend to bother him too. We got a new bed that adjusts, and he's been sleeping with his feet up lately, bent at the knees. He says it makes his knees feel better, but his lower back has been bothering him. I guess you can't win.
You'll get a kick out of this. I visited the Science Museum when I was in Houston because they were having a "History of Chocolate" exhibit with free samples. There had been some wonderful companies there before (Godiva, etc.). Can you believe that I ended up there on low-carb, sugar-free sample day? It's just not fair!

Oh Shea!
There! There! .. don't
Actually, could I borrow the I seem to be too....with
Sorry, I don't mean to but what a bummer (Am I allowed to say that on hootoo? Sorry mods!) Of all the days to go to a chocolate exhibition!!
Easter Monday here is a Bank Holiday (day off for everyone) so it means I get two nights without having to go into work - which is a rare treat for me.
Anyway, stay in touch when you can, but for now I am going to have to knock tonights team into shape, they have done nothing but bicker since the moment they got in - kids, eh!!
Take care, <ice cream>,

! YAY!!! I'll have that instead!
I got a bar of Godiva in the "gift shop" at the end of the exhibit. Have you noticed that you can't get out of any sort of exhibit/zoo/museum/etc. without walking through a gift shop?
Hey look! Time to go home! Sorry for the rush, but I thought it was earlier! Yay!

Hope you are OK. I have got two of the grandchildren from Friday morning until Monday night whilst their Mum and Dad go off to Paris for a romantic weekend.
The 5-year old is already planning her itinerary of "things to do with Granny", and the 3 year old is only interested in what, and when, he is going to eat, and whether Granny is going to be able to read the signs right for when he needs to go to the loo, because he keeps forgetting!!!!!!!!! Great!
If I survive the weekend, I'll let you know. If you don't hear from me, send rescue party!
Take care, <ice cream>

Shea!!!
I have just read your "Where the heck have I been" post, and you really sound as though you have been through the wars! I hope you are feeling completely better now, it didn't sound nice at all! Have some and some <ice cream> as a celebration of your return.
The weekend was exhausting, but they were really very good. My daughter had obviously had a word with them before she went on the lines of if they felt sad that Mummy and Daddy were away, they were to look after each other and give each other a cuddle. I picked Bam-Bam up from playschool at midday with no problem. We went to lunch at a local garden centre, and did all the usual things there: watched the koi carp in the pond, played in the wooden playhouses, watched the enormous Belgian house rabbit run about, and went to see the pets corner. Then we went to fetch Pebbles, who ran out of school, gave me a hug and then put her arms around her surprised brother and said "Have you been a bit sad today because Mummy and Daddy are away?", at which point he suddenly remembered, opened the floodgates and set them both off!!!! Thanks Pebbles!!
Actually, the week's leave that followed turned out to be far more hectic than the 4 days I had the grandchildren - glad to get back to work tonight for a rest! (Joke!)
Anyway, lovely to hear from you and glad all is OK now,
Take care UG

Oh, I'm all better now, thanks!
Kids ...
We're getting ready for Mother's Day this weekend. My folks and sister are coming for dinner. I can't get my Mom to sit still for anything, though. She always wants to help, and is fighting me about making something for dinner. She's not a very good "taker!"

Anyway, hope all is well with you

I read that last night! I just didn't get a chance to post! Congratulations!
I've been very busy at work lately, and only seem to be able to post during my dinner break. It doesn't give me much time to post as much as I'd like. I barely get through my backlog.
Things are just fine with me. Nothing huge to report ... at least, not that I can think of at the moment ...

Hi Shea!
I see you have not posted for 4 weeks - where are you? Or have you just been lurking and not saying a word.
I wanted you to know that I was a Granny again! My little granddaughter could not wait for 2005 and made her grand entrance on 31st December 2004, in just 6 hours!!
I hope all is well with you, Shea and that your absence is more due to overwork, than anything sinister. (Not that I want you to be overworked, that is, but you know what I mean)
Have a big bowl of ice cream and let me know you're OK when you can.

Shea!
As you can see from the previous posting I have been a bit worried about you, and with good cause, it would appear.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, but some good came out of it in that TJ discovered exactly how he felt, and you now know it is no longer a problem to him. Here's hoping for the future
Do you remember the film "Stop the World, I want to get off"? I didn't actually see the film, but I often think the title is so true, we get so busy that there just isn't time for anything (does that make sense?)and I, for one, would like to step off for a while and take stock.
It's 2005 already, and nearly March already - how did that happen? It's not so long ago we were celebrating the millenium!
Anyway, there are going to be a thousand people queuing up to greet your return, and you will have so many messages to read, so I will stop wittering and let you go. But not before

Hi UG! It's great to hear from you!
Congratulations on being a Gran again! How exciting!
I have a harder time posting at work nowadays, as I've been so busy, and that's what's cut down on a lot of my time here. I just can't get up the enthusiasm to turn on a computer at home after working so hard all day. I probably should, since TJ works 2 hours (at least) past the time I get home, and it would be the ideal time. It just seems easier to get ready for bed and crawl in with the tv remote.
Thanks for all the <icecream>! I could use some right now! But instead, it's back to work.
Take care of yourself!

Sorry Shea, I had to go and sort out a despatch problem after I had written your message and did not realise you had replied - so I missed you
Hope all is OK with you. Life goes on here but it is a bit crowded at the moment. Should sort itself out in the summer - I hope.
Thanks for the and ice cream - there's plenty left for you.
Speak again soon
Take care UG
