Hope you're okay and the messageboarders are behaving themselves.

I'm taking a break from the R2 MBs for a few weeks while I sort out my vision problems. Waited too long to have my eyes tested and now I've got headaches while I wait for my new specs.

Usually each morning I like to speed-read through all 80 to 150 new messages on the MBs, but I get too much eyestrain doing that at the moment, so I've decided to take a rest from the MBs to remove the temptation to scroll & squint for 40 minutes each morning.

I was wondering if you'd read 'The Alchemist' by the Brazilian author Paulo Coelho. Quite a short book but beautifully written even for someone like me who doesn't believe in the philosopher's stone etc.

Hope you had a nice weekend.

Enjoyed holiday, but caravan was very cold, needed ES to up to. Weather was cold and wet, but did not stop us going out. Took s to fun fair, in Skegness, they had a good time.

M and I went to play bingo, on the night, I shared the full house with someone else, it paid for our night out though.

It's good to hear from you. Hoped you would be on-line this morning. Have only just got up having played on here, hootoo, last night until late.

The R2MB are hard on the eyes and they are soooo slow, even with Broadband. I haven't posted there since finding h2g2 except to send congratulations to Jeremy, Rachel and Martha. I'm not being critical of the R2 boards though as they are a good place to be and obviously make some people happy. I just prefer here!

Sorry about your eyes. Will all be sorted when you get your new glasses? I wear glasses for driving and when looking over figures, but they don't suit me.

It's a beautiful day here, today. Going to work when can motivate myself, but hopefully will be off until next Wednesday. Husband is off for two weeks, and the children of course, so everything is just so relaxed and laid back. Lovely.

Glad to hear you'll be enjoying a holiday soon. My 'holiday', as it were, will be a three-day break from computers, as the library will be closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday & Monday.

Forgot about Easter hols when I ordered my new glasses, so they probably won't be ready until next Wednesday. I've gone for ultra-thin lenses this time as my new prescription lenses would be startlingly thick otherwise!

I've beem wearing glasses since I was nine years old, when I moved from primary school to middle school & found out I couldn't see a thing on the far-away blackboard in the badly-lit classroom...

I did not know D had joined H2G2. Is she enjoying herself?

ED and I have been out all day, first we went to a friends so ED could see to his computer, then we were going to M's she was going to take us food shopping, I phoned her on the morning and she told me that middle was not well, he kept being sick, when we got over to her house, I went with her to take him to the hospital, he has tonsillitis, and doctor said it will last 10 days, he had fallen asleep by the time we left, big will probably catch it as well, as he was already coughing and he gets quite a few throat complaints as it is.
