Hi Corrie , I had meant to get back to you earlier, I was just reading that last post & I share your opinion of dogs. Terrible about Jay the black lab...bit much for a child to deal with! I'll have to check out some of those links on your page/space...they sound quite interesting. Oh & just call me jaz'd, it saves quite a few keystrokes.

Hi Corrie.
Yes I think they love us unconditionally, I bought Tina from the dogs home, when she was about 8 weeks old, for M, there were 4 of them, but I fell in love with her, she was shaking and cowering in the corner, and each time she tried to come out the others pushed in the way(I'm a softy for the underdog), when M got married she took Tina with her, but after a couple of days she brought her back, saying she would not eat or drink, was just moping around, and missed me,she would not even eat her favourite choc dog biscuits, so she came back to live with us.
No I do not think we will have another dog, firstly because of our cat Penny, she is a kitten from a cat my son had,but ES and I hand reared her from about three weeks, as her mother ignored her, both the RSPCA and a local vet wanted to put her down, but I insisted that as long as I was not causing her pain or suffering, I would be willing to feed her constantly day and night, and clean her with cotton wool so she would think it was her mother, all went well untill she got a blockage in her stomache, again the vet said to put her down, because she was so tiny she probably would not servive the opp, but again I said no, they were all quite suprised at her recovery and said she was a fighter, but it left her being a nervous cat, she got on fine with Tina because we had already got her, all went well untill about two years ago and the dog next door attacked her, she was in a bad way,the vet thought she had a broken back, and said if she lived she would loose the use of her tail, and have a limp, while in the vet's she had complications with her liver, and was not eating and drinking, after about four days I do not think they thought she would recover, and said it might be best if I took her home to see if we could get her to eat and drink, which we did manage to do, we cleaned her wounds every day, but before she was fully recovered I had to take her back for a hernia opp, which they knew about but did not want to do untill she was stronger, the opp went well but it appeared she had two hernias, because of how the dog had attacked her, I am pleased to say she is the picture of health now,and you would not know she had been through such a lot, but she is very very nervous now and hides at the slightest noise, so I do not think it would be fair on her to get another dog, as they can be very boisterous.
And secondly because when I had to have Tina put to sleep I had to hold her leg so they could put the needle in and you could see tears in her eyes, I held her till she passed away and I know I could not go through that again.

Too much saddness, tonight, I think. I'm sorry, it's my fault, and your cat's. When Mr came home he found me in floods of tears as I had just put 'And such is Dying' on Ruth's page. Had been thinking about Jay and you and your cat, and of course, Sandy my sister, and everyone loved by me. This makes us human!
Right, girl, have a and rejoice. We are loved and precious and flawed and beautiful. OK, I'm too fat, my hair is turning grey, I swear like a trooper and I'm a bit eccentric. So what!
I was going to play some Thomas Otten and my favoutite, ever, Beethoven's Piano Concerto #5 (The Emperor) but I'm gonna shave my legs to some loud and happy stuff!

Hi Corrie
I did not mean to get you upset, I am not the sort of person to dwell on the past, it's just sometimes things bring feelings back, I am really an optomist, things can only get better(as the saying goes), my cup is always half full.
I do not drink so have one for me
I have seen the new poem, about your sister.
I have got so carried away on here tonight, I have missed my favourite programme, Heartbeat , I like that because they play part of the sixty's songs, it is going to be on the theatre soon as a musical, so I am hoping my friend and I can get tickets.
Going to make a for ES now, and eat some of my chocolate that M bought me for mothers day.

VK - you haven't upset me. I'm fine. I was worried I had made you sad!!!!! The happy moments and the sad memories will always be there. If the black clouds never came we would not appreciate the silver linings. This is life. I am the luckiest girl in the world, with a few suitcases to carry, like everyone.
Enjoy the choccie - me and the kids love Galaxy (hope I'm allowed to say that here!)
to everyone. Tell ES to buy a Crunchie tomorrow and pretend it's from us.
Will play some of my favourite music now, while I have a soak. Do you and ES like Jackson Browne? 'Stay' and 'Running on Empty' are on the list tonight. Give your cat a hug from us.

Hi corrie
Happy you are ok.
Yes we all need memories happy or sad, that's what makes the go round.
I think everybody has some kind of baggage.
I must admit I always try to look on the bright side, and give people a smile as I am passing, over the years there are probably many people who have thought I must be mad, but I have never let it worry me.
I have passed on the message to ES, he said thanks .
Hope you enjoy your music and bath, yes I do like the songs.

Wait for the entire screen to load up with all four horses and a fence in front of them. Then click on each horse. Make sure your sound is on. Re-click on any horse to make it turn off or turn it back on again. Somebody did some real wizardry of programming to coordinate this!
TRY CLICKING ON THE HORSES FROM LEFT TO RIGHT THEN RIGHT TO LEFT AND THEN JUST ONE OR TWO AT A TIME... IT'S FUN AND A GOOD STRESS RELIEVER!!!
HAVE FUN!!

Hello Corrie.
Thought you might like this poem, I do not know who wrote it.
And Then There Were Dogs.
When God had made the Earth and Sky,
the Flowers and the Trees,
He then made all the animals
the Fish, the Birds the Bees.
And when at last he'd finished
not one was quite the same,
He said I'll walk this World of mine
and give you each a name.
And so he travelled far and wide
and everywhere he went,
a little creature followed him
until it's strength was spent.
When all were named upon the Earth
and in the Sky and Sea,
The little creature said "Dear Lord
theres no name left for me".
Kindly the Father said to him,
I've left you to the end.
I've turned my own name back to front,
and called you DOG, my friend".

Hi Corrie
You are welcome.
yes to both questions.
I am pleased to have met you too.
I was sitting in the computer room, so I did not have the radio on, ES is also playing the christmas songs on his computer.
I too have difficulty sleeping, I keep waking in the night and then early in the morning, never need an alarm clock.
I had signed off the site, so am using ES's page.
Goodnight

I play alot of music uploaded to my PC, usually when not listening to a cd or the radio. Love Radio 2, but only selected shows.
BTW me and Matt are networked, too. My PC is connected to the Broadband thing, Matt's connected to mine. His is on 24/7 doing stuff.
Did reply to your last post to me but deleted all. I reckon you understand that.

Hi-ya Mustard seed
I was sent this by mdnigh.
Attitude
A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud lady,
who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock,
with her hair fashionably coifed and makeup perfectly applied, even though she is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.
Her husband of 70 years recently passed away,
making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home,
she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready. As she
manoeuvred her walker to the elevator, I provided a visual
description of her tiny room, including the
eyelet sheets that had been hung on her window.
"I love it," she stated with the enthusiasm of an
eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
"Mrs. Jones, you haven't seen the room .... Just wait."
"That doesn't have anything to do with it," she replied.
"Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time.
Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how
the furniture is arranged...it's how I arrange my mind.
I already decided to love it ..."It's a decision I make every
morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'll focus on the new day and all the happy
memories I've stored away.....Just for this time in my life.
Old age is like a bank account..... You withdraw from what you've put in.
So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness
in the bank account of memories. Thank you for your
part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing.

Hello my friend,
Thank you for that beautiful poem. I will send it to our 'Thought Provoking' place. Have been busy for the last few days auditing books for friends and also tidying up after a few days of innactivity given the 'bug' we have all had.
Hope to talk to you and yours later.
from me. XXXX
