It just occurred to me that you mentioned you were heading to Toronto. I though I might suggest some musicians to watch for(a few of my favourites from Toronto). First I guess is the very talented pianist/composer I hope to catch tomorrow, David Braid - http://www.davidbraid.com ...& actually the saxophonist he'll have in his group Mike Murley http://www.mikemurley.com. Another great saxophonist is Campbell Ryga http://www.campbellryga.com (whose site must be down for maintenance). Keyboardist/composer/etc Doug Riley & his(drummer)son Ben are definitely worth watching for, either as a pair or individually - http://www.yardbirdsuite.com/Performers/Riley-Doug.htm & if they're not touring, either of the guitarists mentioned there. Jake Langley http://www.jakelangley.com being a fairly hot commodity. No shortage of competent musicians in Toronto though, you should have a great time!

Hello! Sorry, I've been absolutely loony the last week. Yes, TO was great. Of course I paid for taking 3 and a half days off when I got back, but oh well. Concert (Ben Folds) was great, and I got to see Niagara Falls, and a few other random places, as well as a very short tour of Toronto. Now I just want to go back, and check out all the stuff I didn't get to see. How have things been going out there? We finally hit the below zero temperature, but not by much. I can't believe that I am in Canada and it is the end of November. Incredible. Well, off to catch up on some e-mail. Talk to you again soon.

Hi, no prob...glad you had a great time! Yeah we had a really(unbelievably)mild fall last year...Not this time around! We have about 24 to 26 cm of snow with a bit more coming down & it's -21 right now!

Ah, so reminiscent of when I was there for uni. Looks like I'll have a true Alberta winter to come home to for Christmas. I keep waiting for us to pay for this nice weather out here. I'm sort of afraid of what is going to happen come January..... Was going to tell you I went to a place in TO called Grossman's Tavern. Good live music, blues and some jazz. It was great. Have you ever been to TO?

Actually was just changing planes there years ago, en route to Montreal...so never even left the airport. I think I've heard Grossman's mentioned, in terms of Toronto jazz/blues events(possibly a live recording or mention by a musician).

Hello! I've been very busy with school and exams, and feeling like I am not sure what my computer is, let alone having time to write anything on it! How are things going for you? I am home in Alberta for the holiday. Beautiful weather so far, though I hear that you have not had as nice in Edmonton. All my Christmas shopping is done, so that is one thing I don't have to do - brave the malls in the city. Just been walking the dog, decorating the house, and helping my mom out. Hoping to visit friends, and get in a bit of relaxing before I'm back into the thick of things in Halifax. Hope that you are having a good holiday season so far, and will hopefully catch up with you again soon. ttfn

I somehow expected that you'd be here by now...& yes, assumed that you'd been very busy before leaving. December for the most part hasn't been too bad - Nov. was more like Dec. usually is. Nov. on the other hand has been like March or early April. It's only -1 C tonight, normally a Dec. evening would be at least -5 or 10. Still working on the last of the shopping.
Yeah I was braving one of said malls this afternoon*sigh*. Ah, walking the
...what kind of dog?
Really good to hear from you! I suppose relaxing can be a fairly precious commodity, so by all means enjoy it while you can! I've got a late supper on the table, but hope to catch you soon.
