Blues Lite?
Posted Mar 22, 2002
Does such a thing exist?
I don't know. Yet I think I have it. Maybe it's latent.
It's like feeling you keep ever so slightly missing the mark. Like a dart arrow feeling that it's brushing against the red plug of the bull's eye, yet not really knowing exactly whereit is, only that it's near.
I think. Hence the part.
Theoretically - and at least 87% practically, life is fine. Love my job, love my wife, love my kids. Even happy with my dog and my car.
Yet, that little "it" hovers right outside my peripheral vision, making me want to quote those few lines from "Comfortably Numb"...
Hmmm - I'll think about it. Or maybe feel about it. Then, maybe I'll be in a position to write about it.

Whatta boy!
Posted Jan 8, 2002
Get this - my boy's 5 and a half. Today, my wife's travelling and away until tomorrow and his sister has been allowed to stay over with a friend. So it's just the two of us at home.
I pick him up from kindergarden, he goes upstairs to play & listen to some music. Now, what do you think he puts on the CD player?
Blue Junction!
That's fab Danish blues music!
, my son - way to go!

Summer in the city 3
Posted Aug 16, 2001
The hottest day of the year - 33.9° registered in Holbæk. To Danes, that is warm, very warm!
So my brain stopped working sometimes during the afternoon. Some may say that it happened years ago -- don't believe them!
I spent the first part of the evening in the living room upstairs, feet up & listening to good old 70s and 80s pop.
You can do worse!

"Summer" in the city 2
Posted Jun 7, 2001
Driving to work under a leaden sky. Tries to catch up with a local friend who's driving just in front of me but he's as tired as I am (I guess) - he sees neither left nor right but just ploughs on until his exit. Exit Erik...
Suddenly, the skies open up and torrential rain pours down to the point where I'm almost worried about my windshield caving in (OK, almost ).
Then, as by magic, the next tune on the mixed tape I'm not reallly listening to:
"Long as I remember
The rain been comin' down.
Clouds of myst'ry pourin'
Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages,
Tryin' to find the sun;
And I wonder,
Still I wonder,
Who'll stop the rain."
John Fogerty.
Now, isn't that a coincidence?
I wish he had the answer too! Couldn't find parking near the office, so I was soaked when I reached my desk...
