Can I ask how you came across the charity and why you were thinking about contributing to it?

You can. But can I remember??

I probably somehow got a link to one of their first presentations (on their website, under "why girls", the second one there - there is a 1 | 2 down on the page).

And thought "hey, that makes sense!"

Since then, I've come across several commentators @'charities that focus help efforts on girls and women as it just is more efficient, particularily in Africa.

Another one is Heifer International that gives cows (and training) - I heard a case story from Rwanda where a war survivor now was able to feed her children and send them to school
