I've met a few border collies on the walks I was doing before I had my pup. I haven't seen them recently. Did manage to get some biodegradable doggy poop bags from the council yesterday, however. That should help keep the woods clean and tidy.

It's a pity about the missing red squirrels....

Been away to Alvaston Hall, an old manor house in Nantwich which has been turned into a hotel. We had a lovely time. Then a wedding in Woburn. The garden is looking lovely, with the various coloured roses and other flowers. The smell of the stock and the mint is entracing. The veggies are coming up nicely. Runner beans, beetroot, cabbage, lettuce, spring onmions, peas, courgettes, radish and tomatoes. Not to mention the cucumbers.
It is lovely and warm at the moment, but no doubt the rain will creep in. Still it is good for the garden.

Yes it is a sad thing about the squirrels, but I do believe that they are come back.
I see Roger Moore is getting a petition to stop fois grais, due to the way it is produced.

Apparently there are some scientists investigation the possibility of some sort of vaccine to get rid of grey squirrel pox ( apologies for not being scientific enough to know the latin name ). That way, we should be able to help the red squirrels without battering the poor grey ones to death.

I think Moore believes the food stuff is made by killing ducks or something.
Anyway.
It is raining, there is thunder and lightening. So the rain should be good for the veggie patch.
