Pygmybugs -- Intro, et cetera
Not entirely sure if this is a profile type dealie, but that seems like the gist.
I'm an information sponge of the stream-of-consciousness type. Strange things take my fancy, at which point I feel the need to learn everything I can about them. Some things stick around, others fade away (unless they prove useful to one of my present addictions -- IRC trivia) and at various points in time, these have included --
Entomology (a lifetime obsession, though purely amateur), aboriginal culture (especially Aleut, Maori, and various Native American groups), Steampunk novels and art, found-object sculpture, mopeds, antique bicycles, alternative energy sources, the Cambrian explosion, forensics (especially forensic entomology), robotics, obselete computers, cult horror films, the sociology of mass media, back-to-the-earth philosophy and skills, herbal medicine, welding, anything medical or health-related (esp. pulmonology as it relates to my life on a daily basis), every kind of music with the exception of bubblegum pop and "neu" metal, clockwork and gearing, bizarre conspiracy theories about every kind of corporate manipulation of daily life, organic gardening, pirates, accordians, exotic pets, circuses and sideshows, alternative transportation, online popular culture, nutritional warfare against the poor, Chomskian linguistic theory, underground comics, food (haute cuisine, ethnic food, nutrition, recipes)....
The list could go on forever.
I adore sharing information and ideas with all kinds of people, don't mind politely agreeing to disagree with people of opposing viewpoints, enjoy making friends online and off, but I have ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST IN ANY KIND OF ONLINE ROMANCE OR GENERAL PERVINESS. 'Nuff said.
I'm excited to see what the h2g2 is all about and share anything I posses intellectually that may be of interest.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
