Here is a few diagrams of what to do on an English roundabout. Including a figure of eight one.

I couldn't find a diagram of a NJ left turn.

Blackberry Cat , if one wishes to remain an individual in the midst of the teeming multitudes, one must make oneself grotesque

my Uncle Fred drove straight over a roundabout once
I suspect he was very smiley - drunk at the time

The figure 8 one scares me. Plus when I first looked at them I was wondering why one would drive on the wrong side of the road just cause one was at a roundabout. Then I figured it out but now I'm having trouble picturing the same thing only backwards. Maybe I can copy the diagrams and flip them over on my computer so they confuse me less.

heeeee!

Yeh driving over here..sometimes I have a funny turn..quite literally and wonder if I'm on the right side.

It's so easy to go into auto pilot when your driving, that when you come to I have a mild displacment attack..and have to guage that I am on the 'right' side smiley - laugh

In Sheffield we've got the Supertram, so sometimes the tram has it's own bit of road where the tracks go...there's one set of lights where the tram goes one way and cars go t'other, I almost always used to get it mixed up and have a near panic attack when I realise I almost drove on the wrong bit again!

A supertram?

I have an image of a tram painted blue with red knickers...and do they have super conductors too?

Can't you get fish 'n' fries over there? Or is it all buffalo wings and bison fins?

One day I'll understand American food....

Hey, is it true that nobody can make a decent cup of tea over there? (Like with so-called "coffee" over here.)

You can get french fries just about anywhere in the US--fish is harder unless you want a fish sandwich or go to a fancy restaurant.

Yep,

Buffalo wings which is chicken not buffalo, in buffalo sauce which doesn't have any buffalos near it never mind in it...the sauce is made from cajun-y stuff and other bits and bobs and is very nice...smiley - drool but an aquired taste, I didn't like it to begin with but now I can't get enough and love pizza with it on..yummmah!

I don't know what Bison Fins are.. smiley - tongueout

Buffalo burgers - this is a tricky one, if you see advertised as 'Real" buffalo burgers then they do indeed come from a buffalo...otherwise its just a HUGE burger normally made from cow..which I suppose is a relation...at least I hope its a cow...smiley - erm Gotta say it, Americans make great burgers!

As for a cuppa tea...you know, I'm thinking real hard to recall if I have had a shop/restaurant bought cuppa tea, and you know what....I haven't! So I don't know...I don't think that it is on too many menus here.

Long Island Iced Teas are the best...smiley - drunk

As for fries..Geo laughs at me over this one..I am constantly offended that hardly anywhere peels their potatoes, so basically you get fried skin smiley - yuk I hate that, I want fat, crinkled chips with no SKIN....*arrrrgh*

I have tried eating 'English fish n' chips' at The Red Lobster, Seafood Restaurant, TGFI's and well....smiley - yuk the batter just isn't the same...

Lipton's tea isn't too bad, IMO. (That's if you're a PG Tips kind of person rather than some extreme tea nut ... sorry, that was harsh: lover of fine teas)

(I have met extreme tea nuts smiley - erm)

no decent fish and chips, if I wassn't veggie veggie that would have me up in arms
although mind you England as the home of good tea seems unlikely to me, just ask the Chinese what they think of our tea
