Just doing a it of back searching on my own behalf and discovered that this is your 5th birthday on h2g2!
Half a decade eh?
Only a week or two until mine too
Happy birthday!

Happy 'birthday' MaW!
Orcus: how do you tell how long someone's been around here? My oldest (attempted) guide entry is dated June 2000, but I think I was here a little while before I wrote that....

Use the New Users list and change it to something like, show all researchers in the last 12 months...

You can then manually fiddle with the TimeUnits figure. For example I changed it to TimeUnits=60 for five years ago. You then fiddle with the skip number until you get to your user number. It takes a bit of work but you get there in the end. Of course it helps if you have a reasonable idea of when you first registered so you don't start off too far away
Happy birthday!

A little tells me it was May 26th 2000 that you first registered

Seems like yesterday huh?
Why is the site all in alabaster today?
You can change it manually but it just defaults back to alabaster when I return later.
Happy birthday!
Orcus Posted Sep 6, 2004
Well I've set it in Goo and have checked that it is still defaulted so. Nevertheless it is in alabaster by default still.
Strange.

Well, these things happen... could be another database glitch.
Happy birthday!
Orcus Posted Sep 7, 2004
Actually it's a bit of a one.
It seems that if I avoid typing in 'www.h2g2.com' and either use a bookmark or the full, 'offical' URL then it works properly.
So typing in the URL as h2g2.com is the problem.
Serves me right for being such an oldie
