Hello there...
Amy: ear-deep in novels, poetics, and historical documents. Started conversation Jul 24, 2003
Just thought I'd drop by to say it was lovely to meet you in London for the meet. Hope to do it again sometime.
Hello there...

I think I might have been half-asleep when I posted that, which would explain why I had to resort to just smileys. Going to work every day is something I'm not used to, and it's throwing my mental processes right off!

Worry not, then. Going to work every day would theoretically be a good thing for me, but I have a feeling too much routine would just confuse my poor little brain.
Glad to hear you got a job of sorts, though.

I have a second interview with another company... hoping for good results from that (fingers crossed) as it's for a proper job!
Hello there...
MaW Posted Jul 31, 2003
And I've got a first interview with yet another company on Tuesday... they're piling up!!!!!!
I might even get an offer out of one of them.

Well, had the second interview... was very long, took all afternoon! I think I'm in with a chance though, but we'll just have to wait and see...

Thanks! I'm trying not to think about it this weekend as I'm not going to hear until Monday at least, and I've got an interview with another company on Tuesday anyway. I'm kind of hoping I don't hear before I have that interview, but in another way I'm hoping I do hear, because if they offer me the job I could just accept it and not have to bother with the other interview. But if I don't go, I might be missing out on something better...
Gargh!

Hmm, yes, more than I expected to have I'll admit. Nice when that happens
But still, the overall process of jobhunting is unpleasant.

Indeed. I'm leeching as long as I can.
Which I don't feel good about, especially since I'm 21 now, but my parents haven't kicked me out *yet*...
Hello there...
MaW Posted Aug 3, 2003
I'm also 21 - my parents have said they won't kick me out, although I suspect if I'm still here when I'm 30 they might get a bit impatient.
But with any luck things will be a lot different by then

Indeed - I think it's about the same for me. I've still got half my degree to get through as well (the evilness of the 4-year US degree system), so I don't really live here most of the year anyway.
Hello there...
MaW Posted Aug 3, 2003
I finished my degree this summer, so I'm back for good... or at least until I can afford to get my own place, or want to shack up with someone. I do actually have a friend who's also living with his mum who I think it would be great to move in with, but unfortunately he lives in an area where my kind of job is very sparse, and he's not inclined to transfer over here, so that's not going to happen.
Shame, it'd be fun I think - him and me and his cat

Sounds like it could be. Then again, I've found that living with people who one thought one was friends with can be a problem -sometimes they're horrors to actually live with.
