Yes, Word likes to do that... I prefer to do stuff with LaTeX, which produces beautiful output but is really nothing like Word at all, other than that you can use it to write essays. It's actually very, very good at essays... section numbering, figures, table of contents, indexing and stuff works very well.

LaTeX? The only things that comes to mind there are rubber gloves. Shows what I know about computer softwhere...
Sounds brilliant though . Trying to produce a neat contents page in Word is near impossible.

Yeah LaTeX is designed for scientific papers mostly, so it's great for computer science and maths stuff.
I shot this afternoon! Did a Portsmouth, lowest score for a while Really need to practice more.

Oh it's fantastic. I was talking to Nick yesterday, and he says he doesn't like it because there's wind and stuff, but I feel much more natural shooting longer distances - 60 yards seems to be my natural one, although I really need to do some 80 some time, a lot of shoots involve 80 yards and I've never tried it with my current bow.
Maybe that's just because at home I always shoot a lot more in the summer, when we're outside, and tend to be more likely to skip sessions in the winter when we're indoors and extremely cramped (too many of us).

I've never shot further than the 20 yards in the small sports hall, so no idea what trebling the distance is going to have . Could involve much missing of the target...
Wind and stuff . Should make it more intersting. Especially if it's a nice day like today (shame it's the last day of the high pressure though
).

Don't go for 60 straight away, start with 30, then try 40, 50 and 60 gradually - they're all distances used in outdoor shoots, although not that many go below 40 unless you're a junior. 40 isn't really that hard though - yes, your scores are lower, but actually hitting the boss isn't particularly difficult.

Yes, it can. At 60 it can get hard to see where your arrows are going, at 100 it's impossible, that's why some archers have binoculars or spotting scopes to have a look.

Understandable, and seeing as I hardly ever make it to Sunday sessions, I don't see me shooting further than 40.

I have to pack now
I *hate* packing. It gets really tedious by the time you're halfway through the second year - that's if it wasn't already.
