Hi, I'll be starting at Warwick in September- any advice for a new student there? And I was wondering- do they have an LGBT? coz it's not listed on the Student's Union site. not sure if I'd actually join, but it'd be nice to know.

Hello!
Advice for new students... Have fun? What are you going to study? Where are you staying etc?
We do indeed have an LGBT - Warwick Pride: http://www.warwickpride.org. It is mentioned on the union website, but it's quite well hidden (http://www.sunion.warwick.ac.uk/portal/societies/Default.asp?url=ORGANISATION&organisation_id=4265).

It does! I'm psyched out of my mind right now! I really should start packing. Should also read some of the books they set me and learn to cook. but I'm spending my time making a costume for fresher's ball instead. Oh well.

Ooh, and re: your other post, I'm doing English lit and staying in Rootes.

I don't know about English (I do Physics) but Rootes is definitely where it's at. (Or whatever the kids are saying these days). I was there in my first year. Oh the fun we had. Old or new?
I should be packing as well - I packed all my clothes over the weekend, but it sort of stopped there. Oh well.

New Rootes.
I've started packing! I think this shows great strength of character. I don't know if I have enough room for everything, though... what with my clothes, pots and pans, and books, I don't know if I can squeeze in other essentials like my ukulele or my feather boas

I've managed to squeeze in my boas. I still wonder why I've aquired three... Or for that matter why I keep thinking I need a black one as well...
I just finished packing. I hope. If I haven't, I have till morning to remember whatever it is I forgot.

Well, black is the second most essential boa colour, after pink.
I still haven't finished. Now I'm trying to figure out which hats to leave behind. It's impossible, this leaving home lark.

Hey!
Sorry for late reply, only just got my computer and the network to agree terms for a mutual swap of information.
So, you're having a good time then?

I must admit I was on the gin myself last night. And it was my birthday the night before. My liver is getting my other organs to sign a petition against this sort of thing...
When you asked for advice, what I should have remembered to say was this. Always be nice to the domestic assistants. Apart from the odd few they are all lovely people, and their goodwill can make a big difference.
Key: Complain about this post
