It wasn't you, but msn. They also shut down my ISP for a couple of days on a rash decision to stop supporting webmail and web based services, whic in the US includes all the .gov and .org sites, among other things. Whole situation is reminding me of the last days of Enron.

We recently had a controversy on emails in which Senator Waxman (D CA) subpoenaed White House emails from a critical period of a similar problem in which I lost emails as well, due a system wide problem. Waxman reminds me a little of the old testament prophet Nehemiah. He's been making that to represent White House intransigence and I don't think it is on this one. I personally prefer Isaiah. (My own religious orientation: syncretic.... Includes everything except unquestioning belief in anything.)

Its not for nothing that there are so many international actions underway versus microsoft at the moment. On the .gov and .org sites, microsoft has just antagonized the US government and all the lobbies except their own.

I don't like the thought of being a pawn in the middle of US politics..

At any rate, when my ISP went down for a couple of days, I finally went into the control panel, selected add/remove programs, scrolled down, disinstalled everything with the windows tangled knot trial version icon (I've got the full version on this PC)and that fixed the problem. Can't do it with the other (new) PC. Everything there is trial version except my antivirus software. I'm currently shopping for alternatives to Microsoft/Windows/MSN operating systems. I'm tired of their alternating sabotage and 'fix' confidence swill.

I think I'll let Hubby deal with the techie stuff.. Thank you for your advice

try Linux(most things are free(inc open office), I have it along side windows xp, also with Linux, you don't really need antivirus/spyware installed

Already researching LINUX. Haven't been able to find any local software dealers yet. Appreciate the link. Any other alternative operating systems that come to mind?
