So long as you leave enough slack in the gigglepin on the wotchamacallit then the thingummybob on the wotsit will have vertical slapendectomy allowing for ease of use and less techie issues to arise.

NO!!

You need the gigglepin kept tight at all times! Allowing the gigglepin to slacken allows freewheel of the rotatory spindlifier, which will allow the thingummybob to become fouled in the widget. Leave the gigglepin tight, and slacken the digiphram on the wotsit to a torque level of no less than 25 newton metres, (unless the gigaflange redundancy unit has no back-up quantifier, in which case get the hell out of there, she's gonna blow!).
