Well, I am an American High School Student, and Irving is an American College student. I can't speak for Saphire, though.

You might want to try "The Tin Drum." It's German (I think) and very odd, but a great read once you get going into it!

Yes, I've read Catch-22. And I try to go back and read it again every couple of years.
I work in a school in beautiful Pennsylvania. I always thought Conn. was a nice state, just a bugger to spell!
I'm jumping all over the place here on h2g2, but yes I think I was at v-man's compost heap!

Isn't Yale in Conn.? I've got a friend who goes to school at Yale... Oh well. I suppose that if there were a topic I should get back to it... were we talking about fishes or catch 22?

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Sep 29, 1999
I mean yellow. Yellow computer fishes. Why did I say blue? And why do I pretend that the plural of fish is fishes when I know darn well it's fish?

I guess it depends on whether you're an outdoorsy type. I'm very proud of the land in my home state, although the people IN it leave something to be desired. I suppose we have our fair share of rock concerts, major league sports, crime, etc, if that's what you find exciting. I'm not sure of your definition of "tons of fun"...

sounds like tons of fun to me...at any rate, anything is more fun than being stuck in my house staring at a blank screen that should be a college essay...
ah well!

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Oct 3, 1999
Apply to lots of places, find out where you get accepted, and make your decision from there... It's not what I did, but then, I only applied to one college (which has allowed me to brag about getting accepted to every college I applied to)

Check out the college entry essay someone once submitted to NYU! It should give you some good ideas!
