Traveller in Time following the poems of 'watchfulmriduldas'
"She joined the ww2 site days before closure.
We, many people accroos the dna sites have been searching for a place were these poems would be appreciated.
I know it will be a little annoying to see half your new messages are from the same poster, as well as nearly identical. Indeed the Researcher Journal or loads of entries would be perhaps even a better place to find these poetry for most of us.
However, I feel these poems are a form of expression, they have to get out, they have to get published. And the The Post Poetry entry is not the worst place to find them. "

Well, yes. I agree that the poems are worthwhile.
However...
We have asked watchful nicely to desist from posting them all over the Post pages... at least three times by email, plus numerous times on forums. Once here back in April:
F3319024?thread=2756765&latest=1
many times elsewhere I've not got time to track down and then the latest request.
There hasn't been any response whatsoever to any of these polite requests.
Not only that but we have had a few moved back to their homespace so the italics are aware of the situation.
Watchful emailed us a whole batch of poems quite some time ago and we have been working our way through those quite happily *but*
not only were there numerous poems posted on threads this week but I can count at least 20 emails in the last 5 days all of which reproduce the same poems posted to our pages.
Without any attempt at communication how are we to know which poems watchful really wants published within The Post? And do our readers really want to read a poem only to go to a thread and find the same one reproduced there?
Wiht EMR away (who backs me 100% on this and has also tried to get some compromise) it has taken me probably 3 hours just to deal with watchful's emails and postings - trying to figure out which *haven't* already been posted to a thread. I have given up... it is a lost cause as they aren't even posted in any particular order. The file of poems I have on my computer contains around 50 poems, most of which have now been tagged somewhere on h2g2.
Didn't you, yourself, point out to watchful that posting them all over the place wasn't such a good idea?
F3319024?thread=2752398&latest=1
Have *you* had any response?
I'm afraid that this situation cannot continue. Either watchful lets us publish one or two of her poems a week in The Post (which we are happy to do) and desists in posting them on Post threads or we stop publishing them and have them all moved back to her personal space. If this happens she risks the italics deciding enough is enough and activating the spamming rule - which you mentioned in your posting.
We have all tried suggesting that just posting them in her journal or as entries would be fine. It is very frustrating trying to help someone who won't reply...

... and it continues. An email arrives and yet another posting. It is hard to be reasonable when you don't get any response.

Traveller in Time not aware of the emails
"You are right about the communicative part, I only know one thread they used some non poetic conversation.
Lets have a look if I can find it back, ah < F125071?thread=1908496 > on the ww2 Feeadback page.
What I have learned on this site is we (try to) keep friendly and open for all. Apparently they are not very good at 'normal' communication. "

That is also the problem...
We should not be hosting material which has been posted on other DNA sites.
Telling watchful to email them all to us doesn't help as they are already doing that - at the rate of at least one a day, sometimes more.... then posting them randomly to Post threads on h2g2. As they seem to be also posting them to the History site at the same time perhaps the admirers you talk of would be better off visiting there to read them?
We really do not have the time to devote to this one contributor. Certainly my access time to h2g2 is limited at the moment and EMR is away for a few weeks, then back for a short time, then away again so she definitely doesn't have the time either.
This double/triple posting has to stop, sorry. The poems either appear within The Post (and, of course, then are added to the Archive for all to visit) or they will be moved back to the home space or to the history site.
And, fyi, we think we *have* been very tolerant and patient. This problem has been ongoing for at least 4 months now...

... and certainly friendly... our initial responses to the early emails were full of encouragement. Sadly, without correspondance from both sides this proves difficult to maintain.

sorry to butt in
after watchful randomly posted on a thread I started I had a look around and noticed the advice given by EMR about the poems.
Personally if people are refusing to even respond to a single piece of advice and carry on doing it, then it is spam

Yes, had read your postings which means you are also aware that watchful is posting duplicates of the poems to the WWII site and the History site...
I am guessing that watchful isn't technically even a member of h2g2 but maybe of the History site now?

Hi Jon
Yes, you are correct. Both myself and EMR have tried many tactful conversations and emails but to no avail.
I earlier tallied the gist of the problem and, without going back more than 2 weeks, found over 20 postings of poems which corresponded with over 20 emails containing same poems. We are happy to still publish them in The Post provided they don't turn up on h2g2, WWII or History threads as well.
Head, banging and brick wall do come to mind and none of us have the time to keep chasing our tails around. If there is no response this time then the two poems appearing in the edition due out tomorrow will be the last we feature and we'll unsubscribe from all the threads - which is a shame as we do like to keep an eye out for feedback. All poems posted to other poetry threads, archive pages etc will be moved back to the home space.
And, no, I don't think we're being unfriendly. Just trying to do a good job under difficult circumstances.

"I just re- read them while searching for conversation instead of poetry.
I knew many poems are nearly or completey identical, though I never compared them.
