Hey sarge
I think you've addressed a lot of points on the Bush/Saddam and WWWA thread. I know I'm as guilty of this as anyone, but people on those threads will not under any circumstance admit they are wrong. I appreciate the facts you bring to the table. I think if you look at who hasn't been posting to that thread recently (but perhaps lurking) you'll see that a lot of other people feel the same way. You've done a much better job than most of keeping your head cool too. Thanks again for all the info and perspective.

lol I think my cool head has simmered a little bit. I can concede a point if someone can else can prove theirs. That is the problem we are running into, people put forth opinion as fact

To be honest buddy I dony agree with you but I think some of the flak you have got is un-warranted. This place is supposed to be for grown ups and it really annoys me when people start acting so childish you know... .
Heres to disagreeing in an adult way

Too true ferret. It would be a little more grown up and interesting if people could just come up with some facts instead. Will be interesting to see what Montana can come up with she puts a lot better argument forth than ES and wraith
to you too bud

Hmm I have also decided to unsubscribe to the Bush/Saddam thread I really feel that I cannot enjoy a thread where Empty Sky is bandstanding sao much. It is a shame cause there were some interesting exchanges of vies going on... oh well c u around hootoo Sarge!

Worked well for a while. However all good things must end. It just seemed really stupid to me to argue if something that was already done should have been done right after I just lost two guys. Seriously the direction to be looking in Iraq is forward not backwards.

I think that's the key, looking forward sarge. That's something that the dogmatics will never attempt. I tried to make that point to them, about what kind of improvement to Iraq would make the war worthwhile, and they basically said there was nothing that could. They want to change the past...good luck to them, but I don't think they have the physics background to pull it off

Hey Sarge
sorry wraith resorted to hacking you. I wish I was comp sci, I'd have a go at him myself, at least virtually.
Anyway, I think it's pretty obvious that you've beaten them, if they have to resort to that kind of thing.
Next time you're stateside, maybe I can buy you a beer. Good luck,

Is it still flame war city on the saddam/bush thread?

Ferrettbadger. The Renegade Master Posted Jan 29, 2004
yeah I had a brief look at the backlog a couple of days after I unsubscibed....
It made me laugh the way ES and Della were portraying me... do they even realise that *i acually agree with them* on a lot of issues they just annoy me with there style.

U195408 Posted Jan 29, 2004
I don't think they do....once you've disagreed with them, you are forever the enemy.

Yeah, pretty sure the whole thing is down the tubes, and I feel at least partly responsible for responding in kind to the idiots. Sorry, if you guys know anywhere better where us big people can play let me know. By the way, interesting that Della is Wraith's mother. Talk about apple and tree

Yeah it is crazy...
I would *infinitly* rather speak to the likes of the Sarge and disagree than spak to ES and co and agree.
I really wonder how old ES actually is... I am betting he is 15 or less.

Sarge, it's not your fault. They kept it up, and even took it offsite. Sorry you have to put up with that abuse. You know this stuff a lot better than me, I wish I could add something, or take some of the heat.
I wouldn't consider it doomed. Just needs to calm down - like trunt said. Plus, there's always new people showing up. They'll revive it, if no one else can.
cheers,
dave

Sarge I reckon anywhere you go to talk about the War you will get the "Evangelical anti-war" brigade. People who see it in such one sided terms dialogue is just not possible.
It is one of the problems with online communities. In the flesh people beiong SO onesided one way or another tend to get laughed and and so do not contribute to mixed discussions (they only preach to the converted), online I think people get insulated from that but still dont pick anything up from the other side of the argument.

Any chance you still have that email from wraith? Can you look at the full headers? Or could you forward to me, with the full headers? I'm just curious what sort of stuff he's up to.
