The English in American films
Why is it the Americans hate us? In an American film if you want a bad guy you get someone English. (Gary Oldman in The 5th Element and others, Charles Dance in Last Action Hero and others and I can't remember his name but he was in charge of the first Deathstar in Star Wars. Conversely if you want to portray an evil Englishman you get an american to put on an awful English accent of the two types - Oxford English or Cockney. Crazy OConversations
