I listen to the Goons while I'm doing the dishes. It lessens the agony.

Life's unfair like that. I used to be blamed for everything by my sister - until I learned to talk...

I said to mam a while ago - how come it's ME that always cops iteven at 60yrs old, her reply was - because you expect it and that I love you
that's because for many years, I purposely took the flack off my dad, to save my mam and sister copping it

There are a few people around here who would have benefited from being brought up by hand. I wonder if it's too late...

a clout round the ear is missing from many here as well

The short answer is 'no'. I can expect this to linger for months, with the main issue being fatgue. I look normal I feel normal, but I just can't do everything I want to do at the same speed as usual. Even worse, I can be getting on with life and doing things and then suddenly it's as though someone's taken my batteries out and all I can do is sit down and stay there until I get my energy back again.
But in the great scheme of things, I'm lucky, and I know it.

my wishes are for a speedy recovery then Ivan
it's very hard to convince folk that "you" have an illness, when you look ok. (as in proving it)
My problem, is not the shape of my bodythat's a dead give-away, but my bad memory due to a car smash is a problem, you tell folk you've a short term memory and they just look "eh"

I do have a couple of short term memory and concentration issues as part of the whole fatigue thing, but I'm lucky there too - I have a colleague who has MS and her memory is erratic so the workplace is already set up to allow for that.

I say to my friends (my age) that while at school etc, THEY did all the sports, climbing trees and the stuff that lads didwhilst I, because of my spine was limitedBUT 50 odd year down the line and now I'm more or less at the same level, whereas they are either deador physically way below me. another reason why I've nothing to moan about

I'll be operating under instructions from my doctor, which my boss will abide by. (She's a nice, sane person.)
