It wasn't down when I looked, but I had nothing to say... I probably shpould have delayed joining until I was in a better head-space.

I think I'll be staying off the other place for a couple of days, by the way. I quite understand why you're infuriated by the CSA, but the general tone of that thread wasn't exactly welcoming to a public servant. It didn't help that either Doc or Bolder - one of them - can't tell the difference between the CSA and C'link and obviously doesn't read our forms in any meaningful sense. 'Customers from Hell', I think to myself with my pensions-desk hat on. I'll be staying away until I can keep my blood pressure down.
Incidentally, I've noticed a hell of a lot of racism on that site too. It comes as a shock after the nice civilised atmosphere of hootoo.
As it happens, I turned down a job the other day. It was with the CSA. Even I have my standards.

Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Dec 9, 2005
yeah things can get a bit one sided, I was just so.....so so furious, and upset
ahhhh the rednecks..... you gotta love em
I did try to keep it to the system, and not the people, although I have come across some bad ones
and good on you for turning down the CSA job, I think the stress would be worse than it is now
oh and you will be in for a bit of a shock when you go back, travey and distoria have been playing with the design.........
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Dec 9, 2005
I've met quite a few of the CSA back-room staff, and the kindest word for most of them would be 'dopey'. That being said, they're not bad people, just not clever enough to get the system working properly.
The new design - I guess I'll see that in a few days' time. Right now, it's time I went and did something useful...
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Dec 12, 2005
I've just taken my screen-name and quip off the other site.
Maybe I'll be back one day - who can say - but I had a bit of a read there earlier and the racism got to me. Even Travey was at it, so what hope is there?
One of those cretins was talkinbg about WP and 'racist' posts being modded there, saying it might be a good thing as disgruntled people might come to CL-F instead. Frankly, I don't want to be on a site that would welcome an influx of white supremacist scum.
Anyway, what with being a public servant and having a Middle Eastern surname, I don't feel at all comfortable there. So I'll see you around here instead.
Let me know if the mongrels move on, one day.
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Dec 12, 2005
that's cool, that thread is an off shoot of WP 'in the news' access is dependant on number of posts and time with wWP....... from what I can gather, (i don't have access) it is heavily modded, but is full of idiots............ I hope not too many of them come to CL-F, I haven't commented as I am unable to veiw the thread on WP, but team infidel just strikes me as a whinger, he won't last long in the coffee lounge, most will just rubbish him
I look forward to the day you come back, but I fully understand you reasoning, I left another place for similar reasons, not to long ago
oh and Travey is just a snob............ this is the person who spent $6000 on a suit he didn't like, but did like the label
at least we can still talk here
oh going to change my tag line to resident fruitbat
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Dec 12, 2005
Travey is a foolish child who happens to have access to money. He'll be a real person one day - maybe.
That team infidel person isn't too far off being a neo-nazi.
So yes, let's just hang around here.
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Dec 12, 2005
oh yes I agree about travey, I think he is from a rich family, a very liberal family, he says he came out the closet at thirteen......... and his parents didn't mind
That team infidel person isn't too far off being a neo-nazi..........., oh, that is being too kind, he strikes me as a whinging redneck, unfortunately, they are all too common lately
anyhoo, how was your weekend?
saturday, I got the new paint for the bathroom, unfortunately I have decided I don't like one colour.......... it is too light, I shall take it back and hope they can darken it for me and then I used a really potent mould killer on the bathroom ceiling, in prep for painting this week
sunday after work I decobwebed the house.....I lurve my vacuum cleaner
I was soooo exhaused I took today off, after cleaning the bombsite, that was the club, they had there childrens xmas party yesterday arv, children really ought to be banned
oh and I bought some plants for my side garden.... I hope the poor things survive......... they really are quite pretty, purple and green varigated, and cream and green varigated, hang on I will get the name.............hypoestes........I have planted them between the roses
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Dec 12, 2005
It was a quiet weekend; I spent it trying to get my sleep patterns back to normal. I almost managed it too. Apart from that - I went nowhere, saw nobody and did practically nothing. I did a bit of weeding and a lot of washing and a lot of reading. That's roughly what I have planned for this weekend, now that I think of it. I also have a day off on Wednesday, and I plan to be bone-idle then too.
I should probably vacuum the place one day, but it's so tiring getting the thing out of the cupboard and plugging it in.
Hypoestes are indoor plants here - and even inside in Canberra I think they'd hate winter.
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Dec 12, 2005
I want to be bone idle, but Hubblys mum is coming for xmas, hence this sudden rush of things he wants done.........., things I have wanted done for..oohhhhhhh....... quite a while.
since we have decided to restump, rather than build a new bathroom, I have insisted the old hole be spruced up.... so I am the one that has to do it
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Dec 12, 2005
I need someone to come and visit me, so that I get a reason to do the vacuuming. It won't happen otherwise.
*mental picture of Helly with paint in hair, on arms, and on tip of nose, attempting to get paint off Rupert*
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Dec 13, 2005
still not got to painting yet
defrosted and demoulded the fridge today instead, then went to the library, on of my favourite past times
but when I got home.............. I found the neighbours had cut down the big lemon gum, no more dawn chourus, no more bats..... no more shade, they thought it created tooooo much mess
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Dec 13, 2005
That is sad news about the tree. Do you have space to plant two more? A couple of fast-growing gums might have the bats back one day.
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Dec 13, 2005
hubbly won't let me plant anything there at the mo, cos he want's to replace the frnce and garden.....one day
I will miss the honeyeaters most, not so much the screaming bats, but they were fun to watch
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Dec 13, 2005
For honeyeaters, get some grevilleas. They're quite fond of them.
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Dec 20, 2005
I chopped a small tree down the other day, and felt like a murderer while I was doing it - but it wasn't a happy tree, so maybe I can call it euthanasia. I planted two other things in its place.
How's things with you?
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Dec 20, 2005
planting two for one, what a loverly idea, and knowing you, you will nurture them, and they will be happy trees
busy busy busy, everything I have wanted hubbly to do for the last six months now has to be done before friday! as his mum (loverly lady) is coming, so I have been painting the bathroom I was forced to use enamal as I wanted to paint over the laminex......come up a treat, now the bathroom makes the rest of the house seem drab
but ohhhh the fumes, the fumes,...........
also sprucing up in general, washing lounge covers and curtains, vacuuming, defrosting fridge, cleaning oven, washing walls and all those other 'oh my !!!!!!, the rellies are coming
I hope you didn't see last fridays party
hope you are feeling better
here is some for you and some flowers
oh my hypostes thingies are doing great they wilt a bit during the day, but they have grown like....... 3 inches since I planted them, and 2 are sending out new shoots
which reminds, me must go and water them
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Dec 20, 2005
I've just done today's watering.
Paint fumes are one of my least-favourite things... I had to spend three days in bed once, after painting a small room. It wasn't even my room. That'll teach me to be helpful.
And no, I didn't witness the party. What happened? Dare I ask?
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Dec 20, 2005
um lets just say the party was....um....... raunchy..........
ohhhh I have just consumed a bottle of homemade mango wine.........yum...........wibble............
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Dec 20, 2005
I didn't think you were supposed to consume bottles, just the stuff in them.
Three days to go before a five-day break...
