The feral cats having deserted, finding that the mockingbirds are still raiding the cat food dish, I'm still giving them their favorite kitty-kibble, augmented with black sunflower seeds.

At first they were gorging avidly on the sunflower seeds, but within a few days were back to cleaning out the kitty-kibble preferentially.

'S and various other small breeds went mad over the feeder I put up, sunflower seed and mealwormbut this was in nesting time - now they ain't hungry

I actually saw a badger the other night at 8.30pm. Haven't seen them for such a while. Also had a big red fox, with good coat and bushy tail which makes a change from a mangy one. Hope he stays healthy!

Also had visits from two beautiful goldfinches so they haven't forgotten me Wish I had more time to watch

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick note to wish you all a very Happy and Healthy 2016. I haven't been around much as RL is hectic, but I am still feeding our and birds, though at has been so mild they haven't needed much.

Hope none of you are affected by flooding, that is so disturbing, and I feel kind of guilty for being warm and dry.

Epic flooding of the pre-technological age, basin filling to a level opening a drainage channel to the sea (used to happen about once in a hundred years) improbable, not likely ever to happen again, but a rise of a meter or two in the Salton Sea and there'll probably be good fish crops.

So far the driest year in my experience.

Strange, it is a world of real and awful contrasts now. Wish I could help in your quest for water.

behind the out of the draught

Hello All, I haven't gone away completely, just pushed for time, and if I come online 2/3 hours disappear in a flash!

I fed some kids leftover food with some of their own to the the other night, cottage pie and apple crumble and custard, I can't bear good food going to waste, and they scoffed the lot and cleaned the dish

The birds are quiet still, I think there must be plenty of natural food around still.

Hope all is well with everyone and the weather is not taking its toll. I am lucky sat in the middle of England as we seem to miss the worst. Yesterday it poured non-stop all day which no doubt raised the river, but I can't see it from here!

Dreadful like so much that is going on.

The are still being fed intermittently, and polishing off everything that is on offer

Can't believe how long it is since I discovered them Prof. and it is good to know they are still around.

Think they were a bit grumpy that I was away for two weeks, tipped dish and pot plant over!!

Had lovely holiday but CCd from walking and climbing to see Stair Hole, Dorset. It was too humid but we missed the weather they had at home which was pretty awful.
