Absolutely Frenchbean, and as soon as all the paper stuff is sorted re my current situation, and my house is better sorted, I shall be out in it as much as I can, with camera.
I love being at home, it never bothers me, and I am happy on my own company, but fresh air and exercise is essential, more so now than ever.
Of course, if I lived where you do, the housework and everything else would go hang Unlike most people who don't appreciate what they have on their doorstep you are getting out and seeing as much as you can, and even better, sharing it with those of us in colder climes - much colder at the moment!
Have a good weekend

My suburban garden here in Canterbury, NZ, has a lovely combination of red polls, silver-eyes, blackbirds and thrushes. Also the odd starling , greenfinches and sparrows.
And I have a possum which digs holes in the lawn and leaves poo around the place: not in the holes sadly

Has he found his way in to the laundry room yet I still have the photo (I think) of the one sleeping in the cool when you were in Oz. I seem to remember it caused some interesting posts about furry things to keep one warm
I have been doing the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, and as is normal half of them didn't bother turning up Very frustrating. Those that did had a feast as a reward.
Not sure why but the badgers left over half the food last night. I haven't had time to check the videos to see if something disturbed them. It is very unusual.

Possums are a protected species in Australia. The saying in New Zealand is that the only good possum is a dead possum
They were imported across The Ditch for their fur in the mid-1800s Once they were released their population grew until they now do an amazing amount of damage to our native forests.
35 million possums eat nearly 12,000 tonnes of vegetation a night - or 4 million tonnes a year
Fortunately they do not appear to like courgettes or tomatoes

Good grief, that's an awful lot of possums and an awful lot of damage, worse than that inflicted here by grey squirrels and muntjac deer .

If we ever have to move on from here WS - have you given any thought to where we can still get the essential 'My Heart Is Still Thumping'? It would be unbievable and unthinkable if it ceased to exist. sorry about spelling, my mind is going again

Frenchbean, no I haven't as yet. I just haven't had time to check the video clips, and they have been a bit dark and murky lately. The cam is affected quite a bit by heavy cloud cover, and I won't use additional lights. I will try and find time to check them at the weekend.
Scorp and Willem, you are so kind. I haven't been on top of things very well of late, there is so much to do which has to be done *now* ! It would be so nice if the bereaved were allowed to grieve a while before having to get stuck in to financial stuff, which, on one level at least, doesn't seem to matter a damn!
I am gradually catching up with my life but it is a struggle. The light mornings and nights can't come soon enough!

Oh, I remember that period, Websailor. A time when people expect you to be able to have rational conversations about finances, legal stuff and the like. Just at a time when your brain is trying an involuntary shut down and all you really want to do is be alone and/or sleep. It's horrible. But it will end... And if it's any comfort at all, I only made one poor call during that time.
I'll second the support for this thread. It was the first one I tracked down when I returned Mind you, I didn't read *all* of the backlog

Thank you Fb, it is good to know I am not the only one that felt that way. I am working through this ok, keeping busy, but it is the financial and paperwork that is bugging me, there is so much apparently unnecessary waffle, none of which seems to prevent fraud these days
Thanks for the support for the thread I will get back to proper watching and recording soon, and I will take on board other comments about finding another home for it should h2g2 become defunct - heaven forbid!
I suppose I could use Fb, but I am not a great fan of that site. Will think about it. Maybe I could set up my own blog, when i have the time and energy to sort it. In fact I rather like that idea. Any easy, free blog sites to recommend anyone>
