Hello Websailor, Prof, Scorp and others! I thought y'all might enjoy the following go-away bird video:

Willem, thanks for that
Tue.14th Sep. 2010
Weather: Heavy rain showers, sunny spells and windy with it.
Just to let you all know I haven't forgotten about you. PHM is not at all well and my days, and nights are troubled.
The badgers and foxes have been coming regularly but with all the rain they are not staying long, just eating and leaving. Any interesting video clips will be on http://www.flickr.com/photos/websailor/ as I haven't much time to write at the moment.
The birds are gradually coming back but there is plenty of natural food around at the moment I think.

I know Prof. It is sickening. I am getting daily emails from the Badger Trust along these lines. It is an impossible situation. I dread to think what is going to happen.
At least 'ours' are happy and safe (I hope!) See video clip.

Hi, All, I haven't been around much, but as I mentioned PHM is not well and I don't have much time to myself.
However, the badgers are still being fed, and the foxes to a degree, and unfortunately two little varmints have appeared. Just two, and they don't stop long. Last night one was within spitting distance of on of the badgers and they both carried on eating It really isn't good enough when the badgers and foxes don't do their duty, dispatching unwanted vermin!
Any interesting snippets will appear on Flickr with any luck, unless, as often happens it is right at the end of a long video clip
Have a good weekend everyone,

Thanks Willem. I just don't know what is going to happen with the badgers, I really don't. Hope all is well with you.

on sky news this morningsick isn't the word I'd use!
A man in Hartlepool has been jailed for nine weeks and banned from keeping a pet for five years after admitting he microwaved a hamster.

Microwaved hamster, cat in a wheelie bin and many other things, and we are supposed to be a nation o fanimal lovers Such people are definitely sick. It is said that many go on to maim kill people if they are not effectively stopped.
I know what I would like to do to them

I am resurrecting this thread and apologise for letting it slide. PHM is still very unwell and taking a lot of my time.
However, the badgers are still coming, as early as 7.45pm now and at least two foxes are still with us.
The bad news is that next door's is getting rather too good at hunting and took a full grown bullfinch yesterday before I could frighten it off It also caught an unknown bird last week.
The good news is strange. My son and his partner live many miles away but ten days or so ago they discovered a huge hole underneath a boundary wall at the bottom of their garden. Anxious to know what had caused it they borrowed one of my trail cameras, and Lo and Behold, they have a badger too We are waiting to see if more than one appears.
They have put a little food out so they can have a good look at him, but of course now they have done that he is likely to become a regular visitor! Obviously there are concerns about their very nicely laid out garden, and also about when their little girl starts toddling, but apart from that, they are very excited
Such a coincidence! We reckon they are cousins of 'our' badgers who have been sent a message via the rail network about a new diner that has opened

I really hope those badgers dig themselves in and fortify themselves well against the coming cull! Actually ... I really hope the cull goes really, really badly (for the cullers that is).
So sorry to hear about that cat catching a pretty little bullfinch!

Thank you Prof. Much appreciated.

I wouldn't have dared say such a thing, in fact I hadn't even thought it ... but he doesn't usually make a fuss about things. In fact he made me look like a fussing old woman in front of the which was no help

Willem, I keep hoping the cull will be abandoned, we are fighting hard against it over here. Thankfully our badgers are nowhere near cattle!
