Hi Crescent!
J'au-æmne Posted Jan 28, 2000
First year's been all right up until last week, when my exam results happened to me.... I tried to stop myself from drinking as a result of them
Hi Crescent!
Crescent Posted Jan 28, 2000
Ahhh, I was more or less sensible during first year, and was able to make almost all my lectures (11 o'clock starts should be compulsory) Unfortunatly 2nd year (and the next 3 years) all had 9 o'clocks - which as you know are a killer

I don't know how they expect anyone to learn anything at 9:00 am.... it blatently doesn't work...
Hi Crescent!
Crescent Posted Jan 28, 2000
Quite true I don't know about Manchester, but in Aberdeen in winter it is still dark at 9 o'clock. This makes crawling from yer pit a real heroic task

At the moment in Durham I'm leaving the house at *dawn*. Ugh. Its not natural. I'm not supposed to see the sun until its high in the sky. Ever.
Hi Crescent!
Crescent Posted Jan 28, 2000
I don't mind dawn (though it means getting up in the dark) as the sky is normally magic. Well worth the extra hassle getting up early to view

Hi Crescent!
J'au-æmne Posted Jan 28, 2000
Dawn is quite nice over the river in the mornings, makes everything look worthwhile... but from time to time I'd be happy to miss it...
Sunset over the cathedral usually makes for a better sky, though.
However tomorrow I can get up as late as I like because my room mate's away for the weekend
Hi Crescent!
Crescent Posted Jan 28, 2000
Tomorrow I get the same. Weekends are great At school I remember saying I could never do a nine-five, but compared to the alternatives it is ace

Weekends being good things and to be encouraged, I guess. Its nice to know I don't have the trek to the science site
Hi Crescent!
Crescent Posted Jan 29, 2000
The science sites always seem to be far away, the art's students are always right at the center of the campus If you happen to know a good recipe for chilli sauce leave the recipe at http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?thread=37601&forum=30859 . Stuart seems to want to start his own kebab shop

This URL is attacking me in whichever forum I'm in
I never got that good publicity for my donut stall, not that it seems to have mattered Unfortunately I know nothing about chilli sauce, except that it stains other peoples clothes from time to time.
BTW I just met the landlady of our new house, she's sending us paperwork soon
Hi Crescent!

Cool, yer own place in a wee whiley then Are you in halls at the mo'? The URL is cause the mannie who started the particular thread actually posted to the ACE homepage - the first in something like a thousand years And as I say post there for help when I meet and greet, I thought I should see what I can do

Hi Crescent!
J'au-æmne Posted Jan 29, 2000
I live in college in a house, which seems kind of strange... Durham is a collegiate university, although unlike Oxbridge the colleges don't do teaching. My college has two or three big accomodation buildings, and it owns several houses too. My house is in the middle of college grounds, and its fully catered.
