I'm back after a wonderfully relaxing eight days in the 'Quiet Resorts' of the Delaware seaside. My parents and little brother joined us for the entire time and we all seemed to enjoy ourselves.
My daughters and I built dozens of sand castles, collected far too many shells and jumped in the water for hours at a time. In the evenings, we went to the boardwalk and ate lots of healthy snacks (ice cream, popcorn and candy), played games, won prizes and rode on the kiddie rides.
The lovely Mrs X and I slipped out twice for dining and drinks and romantic walks along the ocean. And my brother and I even managed to slip away one afternoon for a quick round of golf!
What a perfect holiday.

I'm away on holiday for the next week and a day.
We're taking a trip to the seaside so my daughters can build sand castles, fly kites, swim in the ocean and generally behave like tourists.
Talk to you when we get back!

The website where I work is finally finished enough to go live. I've been working on it since March virtually non-stop and I've gotten a lot of good feedback on it.
Plus the school year is finally over so I should be getting some more time again to spend on h2 after an amazingly hectic year.

Today we celebrated my youngest daughter's birthday with a huge family get-together at our house in which four generations were present.
She's 3 and still has all that great enthusiasm for birthdays that little one possess. When she opened one of her gifts from us (a video of The Wizard of Oz) she literally jumped up and down and shouted 'It's Dorothy! It's Dorothy!'.
And she made us light the candles twice so she could blow them out 'more'.

Today was the Primary Election in Pennsylvania in which we elect party representatives to meet in the General Election in November.
I spent close to 16 hours at the polls working as a 'voting machine inspector' which means that I am responsible for helping people use the voting machine and ensuring that the vote count at the end of the night is accurate. (no Florida jokes please!)
For my efforts, the county board of elections pays me $70 for the day. But the money isn't really the reason I do it (obviously).
I believe that voting is one of the most important acts in American life. Sadly my neighbours disagree - of the 1063 eligible to cast ballots, 411 voted today. And we were actually *pleased* by that turnout.
