My youngest daughter just celebrated her eighth birthday with the usual pomp and circumstance that accompanies such an auspicious day.
She received her heart's desire - those sneakers with the rollers in the heels. She's been after us to buy her a pair all year and has been checking the newspapers for sales. She even has gone up to kids with them and asked where they got them and how much she paid. (She was worried that they were too expensive!)
I can't believe that it's been eight years since she came into my life. What a special little person.

With the graduation ceremony of our high school seniors, the school year feels over. Yet sadly, we still have until Wednesday for the year to end officially.
Of course, as anyone who has been around schools knows, the summer months are the busy times. It takes a small group of people to work tirelessly to get everything ready for when the students and teachers return in the autumn.
Luckily, we have more daylight and are able to get in golf after work. Not to worry, my golf game is still an embarrassment, but I'm not nearly as self-conscious of my bad playing as I once was.

Almost a year gone by...
Posted Mar 19, 2007
I considered holding off posting a new journal for another few weeks just to have a year's gap, but I couldn't be bothered.
Hello again. Still here everyone?
I haven't done much on the site in the past 300-some days, but I have visited once in a while. And I even managed to post my X-mas decorations over the holidays and got them taken down before I did so irl (typical my lovely wife would say - bur virutal decorations don't require ladders do they).
During my time away, I thought of you often my darling h2 and I've been collecting ideas for entries to the point where my brain has begun to hurt. Nothing for that then except to get writing...

Weird date fun...
Posted Apr 4, 2006
At two minutes and three seconds after 1am tonight, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06 (in the American way of calculating dates - you Europeans will need to wait until 4 May to have the same effect).
Life?
Nah, who needs one...

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
