Caffeine can be a two-headed beast!

I was hooked on iced tea and iced coffee for the better part of two years. I drank so much my heart began to develop a murmur (something the Army doctor wasn't too pleased about!) and eventually had to quit.

While I still love the rush, kicking the habit is a pretty intense thing to do! You get headaches and have difficulty sleeping. but when you're "clean" and start drinking it again....it's like falling in love all over again!

If you can do without for about two weeks, give it a try and you'll see what I mean!

Oh, and I look forward to whatever disease you can give me! smiley - winkeye

ain't it? I never said I was a good girl... and playing with peoples perceptions is at least a little bit nicer than playing with their minds or hearts...

incidentally - the time between this and your latest reply I spend on your page, drinking coffee smiley - winkeye

But what was that term you used "W-O-R-K"???? Isn't that the place you go to write your h2g2 entries?

I WAS (whew) rehearsing for the talk I have to give in 3 weeks, in Mallorca of all places - 4 weeks of stress for 8 minutes pseudo-fame...

- you're into masochism?
Right, I studied biology and did my zoological thesis in the medical-anatomian part of the university, cause I wasn't really interested in the mating rituals of cockroaches or house flies at full moon...And I refused to do experiments with living animals. So I worked on the eyes of mice with an knockout of one enzyme, looking whether they get something similar to known human eye diseases. Disgusting, ain't it? Now you know how I spend my working days when not sitting in front of a computer...
looking deeply in the eyes
of tiny brown mice...

(oops, poetry by accident smiley - winkeye )

You DID ask... *sigh*

That doesn't sound too bad!

But remember I have been called a "boring fart" right here on h2g2!! smiley - winkeye

A girl I dated in college was a biology major and my best friend's wife works in a zoo so I have heard plenty about anmals and their various parts.

Personally, I prefer plants....they really get my xylem phloem! (tee, hee!) smiley - smiley

Have one too, Jimi - but I was never one for botany - I have the thumb from hell - one look at a plant and it'll wither. Apart from the tomatoes in my garden, they multiply, and I don't even like tomatoes all that much smiley - winkeye

Now I know, why I had to eat so many of the tomatoes *g*

Xylem & phloem are the vascular systems in trees that are similar to our blood vessels.

Sorry, it's an old biology joke from my university days! smiley - winkeye
