Sorry minniemouse, I did think that gag was in questionable taste but I couldn't resist. Didn't mean to offend.

hi minniemouse,
I didn't know that people could post messages here without a keyboard. How do you post stuff then? Is it like text messaging on a mobile phone?
hi Alji,
Yes, I agree that minniemouse (and anyone else for that matter) can use txtspk if they like, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Also, as I say, I had no idea that people could post here using a keyboard that doesn't allow for caps.

Well at least you use spaces between words!
az, you can get caps using a keypad but it's not as easy.
BTW az, what have you planned for your birthday tomorrow?

Alji,
I don't actually know what a digi-box is! I suppose they also exist here, but I have no idea what they are.
Re: my birthday. Well, I normally like to take the day off and celebrate MY day properly. But I'm quite skint at the moment so I will have to give a few classes. Happily a friend of mine will be taking me out to my favourite restaurant for lunch. And another friend wants to take me out for a drink and a tapa in the evening, around 9pm, once I finish my last classes for the day. Gosh - two meals in one day! I normally eat a good breakfast and then have either lunch or dinner - never both. So I think I shall have to skip breakfast tomorrow!

az do you get satellite or cable whe where you come from? well box what the channels run through is called a digital or digi box ?

azahar Posted Jan 6, 2004
hi Boxing,
I'd love to be able to afford satellite tv here as I would then be able to see more than the usual Spanish television programmes that are almost worse than death to watch! I only own a television so I can watch films on either video or dvd. I cannot watch Spanish television!
I suppose this explains my ignorance about digi-boxes.

I think even the briefest of glances around the globe nay the road you live in will confirm the fact that we are not = (if only we were)

I want to get back on topic - this is a pretty interesting conversation to come across! Azahar - go find Loup D'argent if you want to know about the people who come here via the Telewest Digital boxes. He's the authority around here - helped me when I was using those vile contraptions.
Anyway I was particularly interested by this comment of minniemouses -
>"i feel it when i go to a christian church"
I seem to remember *it* being the knowledge of being a Christian.
Now, that strikes me as a bit of a dumb reason to be a Christian. Going to a building, sitting down, singing some nice hymns, chatting with some nice people - a sense of belonging really, should not be the basis of your belief system.
Minnie, I actually think you're a pretty intelligent person: dodgy remote messaging, or not. I therefore think you not only have the ability to converse with people who have a different viewpoint from yours, but also question why certain things might not be right.
In my opinion, it seems to be a bit dangerous to subscribe to a religion just because the atmosphere is nice. It kinda makes you prime targets for cult-like activities.
But people, let's keep discussing religion. This thread is nice. Enough people to keep it varied, and no fundamentalist bigots to ruin what is being talked about.

hi Saturnine,
I haven't seen minniemouse posting here for awhile and as a result this thread seems to have gone pretty quiet recently. You might be interested in another similar thread (not sure if you are in the backlog - it got started up again recently):

Someone else posted something similar there (on the last page) - about walking into a church one day and 'turning christian' after about five minutes.
Well, maybe see you there.
