I'm back! And I have to point out... we just passed post 400 on this thread! Not bad considering I think it was only us two the whole time!
Castles In The Air
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 20, 2005
yep. just us! the whole time!
hooray for us!
although i think 400 is small compared to how much we talk and i'm so glad we talk so much
but hooray! 400!! thats huge, and we havent had this conversation all that long either
castles!
well really i've just stolen the computer for a few minutes while my mom is on the phone.... but still...
i dont even remember where we were.... i think the last time we talked about the castle was in an email when you were at work
shall we talk about the ballroom?
really i should write up the room with the piano in it... well i have a three day weekend and i'm not going to school tomorrow... so i think i may just have time for that

That would be awesome! I was thinking of the pool, but only 'coz it's raining here and I like swimming in the rain.
Really, I don't know where to start. I'd love to hear about the piano room!
Didn't we do the ballroom already? Or am I imagining things again?
Castles In The Air
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 20, 2005
ooh! swimming in the rain! i've only ever done that once, it was great
the piano room..... remember... i told you about it... its long and narrow and blue and silver. in fact i think that you had a similar kind of room in mind. i'll go and look for the email with it later.
the ball room.... i dont think we really did. did i ever send you that picture?
i was thinking white and gold with lots of fancy kind of moldings, and a wood floor.. and mirrors!

Yeah I remember it, but it would be great to hear it again.
Just to think about something nice would be good.
I just had a panic attack while talking to the lecturor. It's currently 4:58pm on friday afternoon, he's about to go home for the weekend, my code still doesn't run, there's noone else I can ask questions, and it all just hit me.
Castles In The Air
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 20, 2005
ok.... umm....
just take a few deep breaths. it'll all be alright.
*subject change* ok, so you want to talk about something nice..... this i can help with
the piano room... well its long and narrow not much wider than is needed for a grand piano on an angle. the piano is on the left of the room(from the door)and at the end of the long narrowness... to the right of the piano is a tall candelabra, you know...on a stand... and its all silver with white candles. the walls of the room are a pale blue and really sliver, white, and pale blue are the colors of the room. the room is in constant sort of dusk.... so its dark but not too dark... and at the end of the long room (opposite the door) is a window, but the window is huge...and its ever so slightly curved outward. it takes up the entire wall there. and its perfect so you can push the grand piano out of the widnow if you wanted(but you wouldnt).

i'm sorry jerms. i have to go to bed now. but i'll be back again tomorrow, and hopefully i wont have to give the computer up as much.
i've sent you an email to at least try and make up for my not being able to stay..... but its not anywhere near long enough!
i'll write you annother one tomorrow
goodnight, and sleep well when you go to bed

When you're sitting at the piano are you mostly facing the door or the window?
Outside the window is also outside the house, right?
Castles In The Air
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 20, 2005
hmm.. the piano....
you're facing the window the entire time. and the paino next to the left wall, but not quite touching it. it froms a slightly acute angle with the wall, just so its not totally straight.
ooh... and theres also a little couch on the right hand wall, about half way down the room (still near the piano, the room isnt /that/ long). above the couch is a painting of something or other.... well its not really i couch, i just dont know what the word for it is. its like a padded bench, but it has a sort of back on one side so if you layed on it lenghwise you could lean against it.
i'm thinking carpet in this room... mabye... some kind of thick fluffy cream coloured stuff
what do you think?
and as for the window.... i think it looks out onto a streach of green grass, and then a forest.
what were you thinking?
Castles In The Air
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 20, 2005
i'm thinking maybe you arent comming on tonight. which in some ways is a good thing, hopefully it means you're at home sleeping or at least relaxing.
i sent you an emial

I'm here. Just late, it's after midday already.
I'm reading your e-mail, and just finished the one from the night before.
I'm still sad. Mainly 'coz I don't want to be at uni again. It's saturday, and I'm so tired, and I've been working so hard, and if I work /really/ hard for the rest of the weekend, then maybe, if I'm lucky, I /might/ get a B.
I don't wanna do this any more.
Thank you for the e-mails. Please don't stop sending them.
I like your description of the piano room. I'm not sure about the carpet, I think my only requirement is that it doesn't stuff up the acoustics or the feel of the room.
The couch thing you're thinking of is a chaise longue; it's French for 'long chair'. And I don't think the painting should be framed, or dark.
The view out the window is right, too.

Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 20, 2005
mid day... yes.... does this mean you slept in?
yay! glad you're reading my email hope it cheers you up a little.
still sad? well lets just see what i cant do to help you out with that..... i really will do my best you know. if you can think of anything i'll be happy to help......
i think theres something you should know jerms.... a B is a very good mark. and this makes me sound sad and pathetic, but i'd be happy just to pass the stupid thing. its obviously /very/ hard...
and i know it sucks, becuase you want a higher mark. and with the amount of time and effort and everything that you've put into it i think you deserve a very high mark.... but arent you the one who tells me marks arent everything?
dont want to do what? uni? or the assignment... either way i understand. well not undestand understand, because i'm not living in your shoes... but you know what i mean...
you're welcome for the emails. it was my pleasure. and of course i wont stop sending them. if it helps you at all of course i'll keep right on doing it.
in fact.... soon as i post this i'll go get some more for my throat and then i'll stary writing you annother one
glad you like my description
hmm.... acoustics... thats something i didnt think of.... how does a pale kind of wood flooring sound to you?
and i agree about the painting that sounds very nice no frame and nothing dark... i dont know what just yet, but i'm sure we'll come up with something
thanks for naming the couch thing for me! i thought it was called something along those lines..... but i really wasnt sure.
yay! glad you agree about out the window
hang in there my friend, it'll be ok.
*goes to get then to come back and start on annother letter*

Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again. Posted May 21, 2005
I slept in a little. Not enough though, unfortunately.
Isn't a B only just a pass? My point was that I /might/ just pass, if I spend all weekend working real hard. And if I'm lucky. Which is stink, and exhausting.
I don't want to do the assignment any more, and I'm sick of the stress of uni. I wish I'd done a bunny degree and then I would have finished it three years ago and I could be earning heaps by now. I'd probably have almost paid off my student loan.
Mmm I hope it makes your throat feel good. I don't like it when you're sick.
I don't know what kind of flooring would be best for the acoustics; that's why I don't know whether the carpet is better than the wood. They both sound nice, though.
Is there more to that room or should we move on?
Castles In The Air
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 21, 2005
hmm.... googley eyes gone.... i wonder if you've signed out....
well i'm glad you were able to get a little sleep
well i know you wish you'd taken only three years..... but the reason you're doing this one is so you can do something you want right?
i dont know. school... stupid...
yes the does definatley help.
can i tell you something? oh, well... stilly question, because i'm about to tell you anyway....
you're great. thanks for caring about me
i dont like it when you're sick either or sad, so i want to help you
as for acoustics! yes! something that i actaully know something about!
ok... so if it has carpet it will absorb the sound... and so will the chaise actually, a little bit. if we have a wood floor i'm pretty sure that it'll sound better.... i guess it all has to do with the sound you're looking for.... but i think wood floors would be best....
i think thats all for that room
we can definately move on
which room would you like to do next?
Castles In The Air
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 21, 2005
ooh... and as for a B... i dont know...... at school right now for me a B is a good mark, and a pass is 50%.... which is something like a C- i think.....
Castles In The Air
Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again. Posted May 21, 2005
Then I'll be happy with a C, although that would mean I'll probably fail the exam. So a B would be better, 'coz I need to pass all the assignments and the exam to pass the paper, and I need to pass the paper to be able to graduate.
Well if wood's better for the acoustics, then wood it is.
I accidentally closed this window, so that might have been why it said I wasn't signed on... but when I came back to hootoo I was already signed in, so I don't know. Silly me. I was halfway through a new journal entry, too.
Not sure I can be bothered writing it again. At least it was only a short one, this time.
Shall we move on to the pool? Or the steam room?
Castles In The Air
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 21, 2005
ahh... i see.... C B... hmm... i'm sure you'll do fine.
but hey, i'm sure you already know. but i know if it was me i'd want to be told anyway.... whether you pass or fail i'll still be just as proud of you. i really will
silly you well then silly me too. although as i only write journals once in a blue moon it doesnt happen to me with that, i tend to do it more with emails...
speaking of which... fewf... saved a draft of you letter its comming allong nicely by the way
well if you cant be bothered then by all means be lazy..... what was it about?
steam room, pool... such a tough decision..... hmm.... i just dont know!
shall we do the steam room first? i think that one sounds easier
