She's a queen; of course she's going to think the world revolves around her. Remember, she's officially the British head of state. Technichly, since Britain doesn't have a constitution, Britain is actually ruled just for her, and not for the citizens.

yeah GodBen's right. We're all 'subjects' not citizens. it's a very situation, cos she's supposed not to have any power. And yet Tony Blair had to go to her to ask for the dissolution of Parliament so we could have an election. He told us yesterday that she had 'graciously' agreed!
Anyway getting back to more important things. At least I'll have a little longer on the day to choose my I always do it on the day!

However bad things get, don't try to replace her with a "president." Just as bad. Act just like royalty but when they screw up they only have to wait a few years and then they're out of sight, out of mind.

Personally I cant stand the British monarchistic system. It just seems so silly. At least the Irish president has the important role of making sure that new laws passed by the govenment don't break the constitution.

Whereas the american president has the all important job of acting like a jack@$$ and taking power away from congress... not that i'm bitter.

President Bartlett. You know, the Democratic president who's in charge in America right now.

... My god! You're in some serious denial. Even worse then my theory that long ago the founding fathers made a list of future presidents and they got drunk and thats why we've had presidents like Taft.
