h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

My copy of the guide was my sisters. She gave it to me when she moved out. I saw the TV series before I read the book though.

I read the book, then saw the TV show, then joined H2G2, then listened to Douglas Adams reading it on audio disk. I also heard some of the radio show, but not all of it.

Interesting fact you may already know;
Simon Jones who played Arthur in the radio show also played Arthur in the TV show. Simon Jones was also the name of my chemistry teacher.

Now there's a coincidence for ya!

My chemistry teacher always reminded me of David Trimble (the Northern Irish guy). It was strange because my teacher was a politician.

Could have been the same guy.

I always had a paranoid suspiscion that Mr. Jones had ordered an internet bride from Thailand. Don't know why, though...

I don’t think they are the same because my teacher was a member of Fianna Fail (The main Irish political party set up by anti-British politicians) and David Tremble is a Unionist.

Now are we talking about your teacher or the actor?

The teacher. Lots of weird stuff goes on around here.

Not really. I’m more of an anti-American.

Except, obviously, certain Americans.

Did I ever tell you about Tina?

Alright then, who’s Tina?

Tina's not his real name, but I don't know his real name. Tina lives across the street from me, he delivers the papers. My gran told me he was a cross-dresser, but I didn't believe her cos she is a bit mad - she said he mows his lawn in his wife's dress. But, recently, my dad said he saw Tina cleaning his car in a skirt and a long blonde wig. Just goes to show.

An example of the weird stuff that happens around here.

A cross-dresser lives near me too. Everybody in the neighbourhood was scared of him.

Did he wear his wife's dress?

He wasn’t married.

I don't know if Tina was married, that's just what my gran told me.

I’m climbing Mount Everest.

I’m sitting at a computer, what do you think I’m doing!!

I meant other than web-surfing, non-doofus.

Nothing really. Came to University, sat through hour-long lab, went on internet while waiting for my next lecture.

What are you studying?

I don’t know, I tend to spend all day on the internet.
