Earthquake!

[Dramatization]well...last night at around 11:00pm the earth heaved and gurgled and roared and moaned and complained about high taxes and corrupt politicians as a powerful 3.8 earthquake tossed sleeping students across rooms and out doors...[/dramatization]
...well...it was around 11:00 pm and it was apearently a 3.8 earthquake...centered 20 miles south of greenville, TN...it caused a rumbling that lasted for 2 or 3 seconds and made many people say things like..."WTF?"...or "D*mn kids and their rock music"
anywho...no damage or anything...but it did physically shake the enitre UNCA campus even though it was far from the epicenter...I was lying in bed waiting impatiently for the tropical update on the weather channel when I felt the bed start to vibrate and heard a rumble...afterward people ran out to the common room wondering if there was a possibility that classes would be canceled...but they weren't...I have to go now

There are never any earthquakes in Florida. I don't know whether to laugh at you or to laugh at you. I guess I can compromise

I gather you are in for quite a few this season. A friend of mine "enjoyed" Jeanne with you last year!

Well, south Louisiana is not prone to earthquakes, but the closest thing that I know of that happened here was in 1988 when football rivals LSU and Auburn played here, each carrying a top 5 national ranking, and LSU was down 6-0 with just over a minute to play. On 4th and long, LSU QB Tommy Hodson threw a desperation pass to receiver Eddie Fuller, who caught it and headed for the end zone to beat Auburn 7-6. When Fuller caught that pass, Tiger Stadium erupted in shouts and screams, and it all actually registered as a seismic event in the LSU geology dept. It was rumored that it was actually the noise level that caused the quake, but in reality it was probably the 76,000 people jumping up and down all at once. Whatever, it was pretty cool.
It is now known affectionately as The Earthquake Game.
Ah, can you tell I'm an LSU fan and can't wait for the season to start?
