Spelugx-
You are or Numerical Analysis is???
I am hoping to get better at Math this year. I am going to go through as many online tutorials as I can find. I had a troubled homelife as a child and this really did not lend itself to being able to have the time/peace to actually learn anything beyond basic college math (which I do REALLY well...but in America basic college math is addition and subtraction...I work with money every day so I am very good at this). I can not imagine what use I will have for such a skill...but it is a skill and I am sure a use will come for it.

Yes, I'm Numerical Anaylsis (and a few others too, I've got a lot of accounts).
I should be interested in Maths, since I'm just finishing up school this year, and I hope to study Maths at university next year.
You finish by calling maths a skill. There are skills in maths as with anything, but there's more than that. The real fun is figuring out how to use what you know to solve a problem. There's lots of problems in the back of magazines that are great fun to figure out how to solve.
One thing which has caught my attention at the moment[0] are 'wordsums'. They're quite a simple problem in themselves, but it's been great fun trying to figure out an intelligent way to solve the things by computer. _That's_ where the fun is: in the journey. Knowledge is only a beginning.

[0] The other thing is a great book, 'Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid', which mathematically is about Godel's theorem, but it uses this to discuss the other (now cliched) topic of AI and consciousness. A great read, much enhanced by the dialogues, and the brilliantly constructed ending.
