Yes it's Guy Fawkes and yes it's good fun although they've passed some new laws restricting the sale of fireworks, you can still buy them as a private individual and have your own personal display in the garden or in our case, field!!! Personally I think that they should be banned unless you're a licenced event organiser..........we have far too many accidents and deaths at this time of year from irresponsible use of fireworks
Find it hard to imagine a really bad drought cos we're never far away from rain over here But having lived in South Africa for 3 yrs can remember how dry and dusty it used to get but we never seemed to be short of water
So, am assuming you're at home on the pc?

Not avoiding...never that
life is good...well headache yesterday but otherwise
daughter's formal the other night she looked stunning she's tall and slim (as her dad was at 16) and she and her favourite aunts had bought a gorgeous light bronze silk chinese dress very stylish and she stood out from all the frocks (even accounting for a proud dad) Annie shed a tear losing her little girl....sigh
How's you?

Hi I'm fine...things are good...kids went back to school today after their summer holidays so it is really business as usual now
Did you have a nice Christmas/New Year?
Naughty boys
tsarina Posted Jan 24, 2005
It's been business as usual here since the first week of Jan kids only get 2 weeks off for Xmas!
Xmas/New Year was fairly quiet.........just the family.....no mass orgies unfortunately I was working over new year so nothing much exciting happened there either
How did yours go?

Holidays were lovely...we spent them with my brother and his family on his farm...lots of fun, drinking, eating etc and playing with horses as a bonus including a handful of young foals...very hard to leave!!!
I'm a little disappointed...I was counting on some juicy gossip of your carrying-ons over the the break ...no orgies...sounds like poor planning

tsarina Posted Jan 25, 2005
I'd like some juicy gossip of my carry-ons too.......trouble is there aint none happening lately........think I got stranded in a barren, sexless desert Either that or I'm losing my touch
Your holidays sound lovely..........as it's usually cold and wet over here, we tend to spend most of the time indoors Had Xmas dinner with the ex in-laws, the kids, my mum and my brother which was nice Dan should've been going with his dad but he almost sliced his thumb off on Xmas Eve and I had to take him to hospital and he had 8 stitches in it, so he decided he'd rather stay at home with us on xmas day as his thumb was sore and throbbing He did that slicing up carrots for the horses.......thought he'd add some extra protein

The Mayan Templar Posted Jan 25, 2005
Ouch!!...hope the horses didn't get a taste for human flesh 8 stitches for a thumb is pretty serious, is Dan OK?
Sorry sweetie didn't mean to upset you here! I reckon once you've sorted out your house problems and can concentrate your efforts, you'll turn things around...you'll be beating them off with a stick and a whip...and chains

tsarina Posted Jan 25, 2005
yes Greg he's fine..........was nasty at the time tho and I probably made it worse cos I thought he was 'horsing' around cos that's the sort of thing he does.........til I saw the blood seeping thro his fingers I really thought he was winding me up He was ok til they started to inject around the wound with local anaesthetic so they could stitch him up........that's when he started screaming and tried to break all the bones in my hand (ouch) bless him!!!
To be honest, am not that bothered at the moment, am happy to concentrate my efforts on the house and kids etc.........this dating game is a complete mystery to me after 24 yrs of marriage ......all the rules seemed to have changed since I last played

The Mayan Templar Posted Jan 25, 2005
They're funny aren't they, all tough till they need their Mum...glad he is OK...I'm assuming it was his left so no time off school
I'm no help either (23 years) would have absolutely no idea where to start, though I have a bunch of female relatives I'm sure would love to advise and prompt me...and console yourself that once you master the dating game the rest remains the same

tsarina Posted Jan 25, 2005
it was his left but he did have to miss a mornings school to have the stitches out and then he took great delight in showing off the gory scar to all his friends ..........boys huh???
Like I said.........am happy just to take each day as it comes right now........if cupids arrow manages to find it's target then all well and good but if it doesn't..........then I've not lost anything......am not about to rush into anything in any case
