I've even heard it said that some pain IS pleasure.
I'm not likely to remember any better, but now that you have returned, ... Wot's your work-schedule?
The tiara suits you well ....
tsarina Posted Dec 3, 2006
Am back to normal work hours now......Sunday thro to Weds, 10.30 to 21.00, then off thurs, fri & sat!
Not sure what Xmas work schedule is yet but I believe Xmas day & Boxing day are on a purely volountary basis but might be worth it for the extra money ....even if I only work a couple of hours!

Hey, an extra few quid is never a bad thing, eh? Might your little come visiting over the holiday season? Obviously bringing Mommy and Daddy, but they are simply incidental.

No, this year it's Robs mums turn to have them over Xmas and they'll be with us for New Year......so we'll have two Xmas dinners this year
What are your plans for Xmas.....just you and M'Lady or maybe a couple of friends over?

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Dec 4, 2006
So far, it looks to be just us. Though that often changes in the final week, and we invite someone in to join us. You KNOW there'll always be plenty for any 5 more people anyway.
Hmmmm, and just how spoiled do you suppose -Lauren will be this holiday? Toys, clothes, stuff ... I know that I thoroughly enjoy buying the noisiest things that I can find. And shipping them a full 1,350 miles away for grands to play, fight, and irritate the hell out of parents. All well out of my hearing range.
Just as a BTW, a certain little girl is standing on her head, bum pressing firm on a Mommy's diaphram, and noggin being a bother much further south. We doubt they will last until January 30th.

you doubt who will last till January? I think I've lost the plot somewhere along the line
Kathryn, Lauren & bouncing black Labrador Jessie are at my mothers again till tomorrow so popped in on the way to work for a cup of tea and a cuddle or 20 ......she is such a joy......contented, happy, smiling and of course the obligatory raspberry blowing, burps and other bodily noises but just so cute!!! I really didn't want to leave and come to work

Couldn't you just call in as "baby-napped" or something? The more novel the excuse, usually the better they work.
My baby-girl is expected to deliver grand-baby number 4 around January 30th. (My only journal, though it's not been updated a while) But she's of such a size, and the tumbling girlie seems ready to take the plunge already ... And I don't want to have to buy any more Christmas prezzies this year. Certainly NOT a fortune-worth of darling little girly-things.
PS: Do ya want any of the 6 inches of snow that dropped on us over-night? I don't want it.

Oooooh I really wish I could be baby-napped but as I've already taken the 3 days I should've been working in the middle of my leave off sick then I don't think I dare take anymore time ......
Yes please, will take all the snow you've got spare cos then the trains wouldn't be running and the roads would be blocked and then I wouldn't be able to get to work and I could spend all day with Lauren and Mum
Let's hope that the new Mum-to-be manages to hold on to her precious cargo until after Xmas......then you won't have to go out shopping again will you

In fact, I spoke with her just a short time ago. She's recently had a chest infection, and last night checked in to the Emergency Ward of the local hospital. Breathing was a serious pain, and it looks like some residual fluid on one lung. But the baby is doing just fine, and absolutely no cervical activities happening. I again reminded her to wait until February 2nd though. That way I don't have to buy milady a new family-birth-stone ring (she already has a February for young Nick) and the baby would then share a birthday with Mavis' sister.
*begins to package handsful of snow into envelopes ... *
Ummm, this may take some time.

Hello there Nick
I'm in work and have got a steaming headache and I want to go home!!! I can't tho cos I had 3 days off sick recently and they're not too happy about it .....if you're sick, yuo're sick and don't really see what you can do about it! But there you go.....that's what this company is like After Xmas and the New Year I'm definitely looking for alternative employment....I've had a right gutsful of this place!!!
Anyway, enough of my whinges and moans....how are you today?

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Dec 11, 2006
Ummmm, sick and gone home because of it. Woke with a really bad head, so flushed and over-heating that I occassionally resembled a bit of lobster. After a few hours at work, it wasn't improving, so I said to hell with it. I was no good to anyone.
The annoying bit is, I was fine through the whole week-end ...

Just wishing you a really Happy and Prosperous New Year and can't wait to see you and M'Lady around Octoberish
Am in work at the moment and will be all over the New Year so if you try to call and get the ansafone, then that's why......I won't be at home until around 10pm our time (5pm your time)
Kathryn, Rob and my little Lauren are at my mothers for a New Year visit but, once again, I'm not going to see too much of them .....I did ask for some time off work but got a big fat NO!!! .....really do have to look for alternative employment that doesn't involve working highdays and holidays

Oooooh I thought it was going to be October! Sorry, my mistake ......I will most certainly be around in September
The tiara suits you well ....
Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Dec 31, 2006
Oh no, it can't be October ... That's the month that I try to hide, because I age another number.
If we can manage, we're hoping to leave very late the night of August 31st. The first Monday of September being a bank holiday here, we can manage a couple of weeks a bit easier, vacation-time-wise. And as our anniversary IS on the 5th, we'll actually be somewhere for it.
