Not only was today memorable with the announced engagement of Ginger and Doug. But I also managed to write 1500 words on my thesis. Well I actually wrote about 3000 but being the perfectionist that I am I junked the rest.

Silicon therapy

My computer just had what can only be called a psychotic episode. I only hit the reply button in one of the forums and it all went pair-shaped. The whole thing froze, then the ominous blue screen appeared. The one which says "YOUR SYSTEM IS BUISY". The one which was not supposed to be in Win95/98. The one which means "hit the reset button quick and give the PC ten minutes to chill out", well I suppose it has been on for over twelve hours solid.

I just heard the Venga Twats latest effort. That was more painful that having my teeth pulled. Not only did their first few songs, and I use the term in the loosest possible sense, sound totally identical. But the latest is even a bloody cover. Work work work

I hate work, I did end up getting 3500 words done for my thesis though. But I still havn't finished the damn reaserch yet. The server is still playing up and refusing to behave with my scripts. It won't run my Blast search, just keeps hanging at the relevent point in the script. Any way I have about 2 weeks to get the write-up up to around 12 thousand words. This may take some time.

Any one for cheese

There is a mouse in my kitchen. More than one probably. This is quite disconcerting and I don't like the idea of them eating my food. This begs the bigger question, why is there a mouse in my kitchen? Or more to the point why me?
I'm off to set a trap, one of those traditional Tom and Jerry type things with the big wire loop and the spring.
