Not quite PC

It made me smile a bit, when I tried to enter what I had for dinner into the fitday manager(www.fiday.com) yesterday. I've been keeping an eye on what I'm eating for a while now, to see that I do it right, because I have a tendency to eat too little while low-carbing.
So far I've found most of my food in the lists, but yesterday we had us some lovely whale steaks for dinner. Didn't really surprise me that I didn't find whale on the lists. I did find, however, bison and bear! And what IS armadillo? Oh, dear...

On the way to a better life.

Went on the scale this morning.
Another halfkilo (a bit more than a pound) gone. That means I've dropped six kilo (around 13 pounds) in six weeks. My bloodpressure is perfect, my skin looks healthier and the hairloss has stopped. I feel good! I can do this!
The usual SAD-monster has not shown it's ugly face so far.*Knocks on wood!*
Winter solstice is tomorrw, and after that it get's brighter every day, so maybe I'm in the clear. It's almost against the Law of Nature for me to be this optimistic at mid-winter, but I am! Is it too good to be true?

Bee on sick-leave

This has been one awfull week, and it's not even over...
Some sort of infection has grabbed hold of my kidneys and really upset my whole system! It's pain full and it's making me nauseous and feverish. The doctor couldn't answer weather it's a bacteria or a virus, so for now,I'm just going with the flow...drinking half an ocean a day.
This is so inconvenient!
Coaching a coworker via telephone I managed to get the pay-checks at w*rk out today, so my popularity should be intact there, but all the pre x-mas activities are put on hold. That includes the promised shopping-round with the brat, cookie-baking and probably the x-mas party on Saturday.
One good thing though - we've finnally booked plaintickets and hotel for the London meet-up in January, so now I've got something nice to look forward to.

Blue but true...

I've been a bit under the weather the last couple of weeks. Don't want to whine about it here though, it's nothing I want to talk about. Anyway, it might be a little while before I'm fully up and running again. One day at the time, easy does it...
I miss hootoo when I'm not here, but when I'm here I can't seem to connect with people - no dialog, if you know what I mean.. It's like we're talking past one another.
A lot of my friends aren't here anymore, the people I used to talk to. I miss them.

The Ninth of September
Posted Sep 9, 2002
and the world is warm and mellow. Helge was buried on Friday. It was a beautiful day too. Typical. Helge liked rain. He liked days when you could come in from the rain, a bit wet and cold, with the fresh air hanging in the hair and clothes, and snuggle in a good chair and listen to music and read good books. He wrote poems by candle light. He sat in the pub, drinking a perfectly poured Guinness, listening to our silly conversations, chuckling, and giveing his short, presise comments. Giving us things to think about. And we would shut up, and sit there, together.
