And we all agreed it had been a wonderful trip
Posted Apr 3, 2002
I had a wonderful trip to Denmark, meeting Pierce the Pirate, Hatifnat, Engländer, Bossel, Tube, Dax, Ottox and KimotoCat.
Started out from home at half past ten in the morning, and just caught the bus to the airport on time. Had a pleasant one and a half hour flight to Copenhagen, where I got on a train to Esbjerg (another three and a half hour trip). Halfway there, I got a SMS from Ottox and Hatifnat, and they managed to jump trains to get on the same as I was on. It felt strange to finally meet them "in the flesh". :o)
The next two days went with a lot of talking and laughing, looong Danish lunches with beer and schnapps and lovely food. I had brought a coldsmoked mackerel after a request from KimotoCat, and that turned out to be very popular among the Danes and the Germans! Bossel had brought a special German weissbeer, a very strong beer with a rather peculiar taste... KimotoCat taught us a (for me) new party game (where I won a toy lamb) and Dax made us sing a long on a Klingon drinking-song!
Unfortunately I developed a bad cold, so I had to excuse myself from the nightlong rambles. I think Engländer and Hatifnat slept not more than two hours the whole weekend! All too soon it was time to say goodbye, we waved to the three Germans riding in Bossel's Goo-coloured car and made the whole train trip in reverse.
I got a bit confused in the Tax-free shop on the airport and ended up smuggling half a pint of Cognac over the quota, but I was to tired to worry about the costumes.
Home in Bergen I met up with hubby and the brat in the local pub, where the regulars welcomed me like a long lost hero. I got quite embarrassed and warm inside..:o)

Thank goodness it's over!

Coping with this mid-winter feast is getting harder and harder every year. This last one was just awfull! For me it's only extra stress that I really could do without! The anticipation and joy from childhood has all gone. The gift-exchange seems meaningless. The social gatherings routine-like and forced. December is hard enough to get through as it is, without all this hassle! (Bah, humbug!)
But now it's over! The sky is blue, the sun is shining, and xmas is over. Life's finally getting better!

Terribly busy

I'm very sorry if people think I've abandoned them or stopped careing. I just have too much to do in RL at the moment. I'm way behind at work, and in the evenings I'm just too tired to log on. If I catch up at work I'll try to use some of the vacation I've got left. There's still two whole weeks I haven't used yet.
I miss you all!
