Hustings
Posted Feb 9, 2000
Today I husted. In fact I only proposed the hustee. That was quite nerve-racking enough. I was fairly short and to the point and I've been complimented on the speech.
It was Wamsey's birthday and so everyone was very drunk in the bar. I didn't feel up for it so I've come here to write my journal and sort out the book orders for the Library. I think I'll make an Access database for it. Won't that be fun (!)
Aren't I a geek.

Missed
Posted Feb 8, 2000
I missed a night. Last night I didn't manage to write my Journal Entry. Mainly because I was deeply drunk.
A small and select group of professional drinkers decided to drink the rainbow last night. Problem 1. We weren't going to do the actual ROYGBIV rainbow because that was boring. No, we were going to do the rainbow as taght to all primary school children as:
Red and Yellow and Pink and Green, Orange and Purple and Blue. I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too.
Fine. Except that a) we were already a bit squiffy and b) it's been a little while since we were last taught this song so we couldn't agree on the order of the colours.
Problem 2. Since we had this song and 7 drinks in front of us we decided that we'd sing the song, down one drink, sing the song, down a drink etc. Oh my God. The song is *much* too short for that.
Suffice it to say that we were all rather drunk by the end of the night.
Anyhue - Lunch is about to finish and I'm starving.

Sleep
Posted Feb 7, 2000
I have just slept for 7 hours.
I didn't sleep all the way through Sunday. I survived on a mixture of Virgin Flyer and sheer bloody-mindedness.
I now have 3 1/2 hours to write a project n the changes in Inuit culture caused by the arrival of Westerners.
I'd better get on with it.

Up all night
Posted Feb 6, 2000
It's now 10:16 am on Sunday. I woke up at 8pm on Saturday and haven't slept in between. I have a project to do for tomorrow and so I think I should sleep.
The pledge night was a bit of an anti-climax. Having raised £2700 on the slave night we only managed about £300. I put blue curacao and blackcurrant in my hair which has made it rather scanky but what the hey. I listened my way through all the decent singles in the Green Machine's singles collection and drank Guiness while practicing my darts all night.
Not a very exciting day (or night) and now it is time for bed.

Blondie

Again - I'm knackered. Too many late nights? No, too many early mornings.
I missed a practical today. Which is a pain in the arse, since I'll have to try to do something to make up for that. I also recieved a leter telling me that I didn't hand-in an essay which I *know* that I did. Which is also very annoying.
I worked the bar this afternoon. Which wasn't too stressful. It was nice to see how many poeple know who I am. I really wish that my names & faces memory was better but it just isn't. In fact, it sucks. But it's still nice to have people come and and say, "Hi."
After my bar shift I bleached my hair. Never done that before so it was an exciting experience. Surprisingly it looks pretty good I think. I'm a bit upset that I'm going to have to dye it blue tomorrow. Apparently it make me look like one of the 'Lost Boys'. And they're pretty cool.
I filmed the Slave Auction and also I was sold in it for £25 to Renton. I'm a bit concerned about what he wants me to do but I'm sure I'll survive. I also had to sing 'Angels' by Robbie Williams. That went down OK (well, no-one screamed or threw rotten vegetables) so all in all another good day.
I don't seem to have had any bad days for a while - the law of averages might be about to catch up with me - I do hope not.
