Hi Njan, haven`t seen you around for a while. You OK - everything good with you ?

Hey there. Beer?
*grabs a few bottles of old peculiar from a pocket somewhere*
I've generally been a bit busy, as well as trying simultaneously to recover from 3 days of drinking (et al) at my girlfriend's house and play with a symphony orchestra. ... that takes care of the moment.
Sides from that, lots of otherworldly (real life) concerns which are kinda generally taking precident over h2g2 () in addition to being bored of sniping at people in the cat/dog war (because no-one pays any attention to me, mostly. )
But yeah, I'm /kinda/ ok. Stress kinda.
Yourself?

*opens a stubbie* Njan.
Nuthin much - just relaxing over Xmas - been hot out here (high 30 degs C) which sort of drives you indoors to the aircon. Spent a fair bit of time on line as a consequence.
I`m due to leave Australia for a new work assignment in the US during Feb/March so I`m starting to get v busy and stressed myself. leaving everything to the last minute per normal.
Missed you round the threads .... we got some more cartoon weaponry developed if you`re interested. Dont be a stranger - pop by from time to time.

Stubbie?
Groovy. Yeah, I can imagine.. other than the walking from railway station to house, along railway platforms, and hanging around in waiting rooms, cold weather like this's lovely.. I like hot weather (as long as I don't get burnt) only up to a /certain/ point.
I see... what sorta thing you doing?
aww. :p... I'll jump back in eventually. Just...yeah. Busy.... I've been talking to people in small forums a lot more recently, because they're quieter.

Sorry Njan, Aussie slang Stubbie = small bottle of beer, Tinnie = tin of beer, both usually around 300 ml. You drink Stubbies very cold out of a stubbie holder which is a foam holder so that your stubbie doesnt get warm. This is very important.
You get invited to parties out here where its bring a 6-pack (interesting party) or bring a slab (24 tinnies = very interesting party ).
I work for an oil companyand get moved around a lot which can be very interesting or a real drag.

Ahhh. This is an ENGLISH bottle of beer. It's 500ml.
Groovy. ... over here, we either go to the pub, or whoever's house it is, they provide the alcohol. (never host a party. )
Ah, I see. Gonna drop in on England at all?

Probably next over in 2003 unless work gets me there beforehand. I have a long standing invite to the Towers which I`m eager to take up as soon as I can.

Hey Njan, I can go along with the kidnapping - I'm moving from Perth to the US in the next couple of weeks so I'll be intermittently online anyway. So it suits me you see. How would you like me to play it ?
Nice pic on your uspace btw

Well if you're moving, then a GSV bay is probably quite a comfortable place to stay. And a good excuse for not being as active as you might be.
Play it how you want.
And thankyou, I liked it. :-p
Aren't we cute?
We sicken everyone, we do...

Hey Njan, Venom seems to have agreed on your behalf to accept a ransom from Rambling for my release. This might be a tad premature old chap .
Maybe you could work it so that Venom absconds with the loot and was working on his own initiative ....... or lock him in with me as punishment or something.
Certainly you haven't had enough publicity yet and it brings this interesting scenario to a too quick a halt before it's played out.
You have any thoughts ?

*nods*... yes, it seems premature. Unfortunately, I can't go against what everyone else says all the time (although I do try)
I suggest that the dogs try to double-cross us, and it's all actually just a plot to get you back: either by giving us bad cash, or because there's really nothing for us to do once we're employed.

sorry, Njan. If you like, try this senario: I gave you bad cash, so you turned off RD's device and he's still trapped.
Say the credits that I used were from the Bank of Republic of Texas. Your bank doesn't recognise them.
When you call this oversite to my attention, I get all indignant, refuse to pay any other way, and the dognapping continues.
Let me know and we'll do it in the holding cell.

how about a neutral exchange of cash at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/A279498
It lets us screw up the exchange on your college entry, chase one another around like mad dogs, and then maybe set up a soccer match.Could be fun if run as a cold war exchange, with you showing up in trench coat and with RD in cuffs, and a few dogs showing up with a bag of funny money. Think: Exchange of prisoners at the gates of the Berlin Wall. Will be out of place in a college setting, giving us room for comments like
"Don't shoot the students!" and Sir Thomas would be spinning in his grave!", and will allow us to run amok in a peaceful academic setting.
Comments? Suggestions?
will wait till monday for any real action to start.

.. I'm only there for another month, I don't care what you do to the place.
But I'd rather stay in the GSV... it's a nice safe place to keep a kidnapped personage: there's no risk of him being kidnapped again.

Will set it up tomorrow. I'm gonna put a link to it on the incorrect catharsis page, so people will know where the ransom exchange will take place. Look for a thread called "The Ransom of Red Dog," by o henry.
