Ever hopeful
Posted Nov 28, 2004
I popped in to visit a couple of old friends today and they were talking about getting a new cat to replace the one thye've just had to have put down. H (the wife) was quite concerned that someone had offered her an HIV cat when H had said that they wanted one that wouldn't want to go out.
H was concerned about taking on such a responsibility as she had heard that the end for the poor things can be quite unpleasant and they only live for about 5 years. She thought that she wanted something with a bit more life in it.
This sounds slightly odd but it becomes much odder when you hear that H is 90 in Feb and her hubby J is 87 in a fortnight!

Outwitting the dog.
Posted Nov 5, 2004
Judy is a bitch. Being a female dog this epithet is appropriate. It is also appropriate when I tread in her in socked feet. It is more appropriate when we close all doors and barracade the most vulnerable one with threee chairs and she still manages to get past and deposit another message.
I think she has Houdini genes in her poochy make-up. I've had to go and buy a lock for the door so that we can lock her out of the room she has decided to label as "Dog WC." If she gets past this latest effort she may hear from my lawyer.

Unless you are up for it and have a similarly named journal entry for yourself (with your own name instead of Vestboy) please ignore this and carry on with what you were doing.
Superheroes: We now need to wait for six of these to be set up and then we can choose teams.

Moving Office
Posted Oct 20, 2004
I'll probably be on almost as much as usual but I'm moving office on Friday and the computers will be diddled with by the boffins - so if you don't hear from me for a bit it's because... I don't love you any more.

Limbo...
Posted Oct 8, 2004
Yesterday I had word that the police had phoned my office looking for the next of kin of a work colleague. He had collapsed in the street on the way to visit a client and had been taken to hospital. Another colleague phoned the hospital but the hospital wouldn't say anything and refused to pass on a message.
We are all really worried about him but at the moment we don't actually know if he is alive.
This is very strange and quite upsetting.
