A good day for computing

I can't remember whether it was Anno, or another game entirely, but it was a nightmare to prevent rebellion how well you ran your system, or had military
Rebellion was based off distance from capital, not number of provinces from capital
THis meant that if you chose to start in the new world, you were stuffed, I held most of North America, and had more internal wars (many starting in bits I'd always held) then anything else

no, that doesn't sound like Anno. In Anno there are rebellions but the world only consists of a couple of islands and I don't think they ever tell you exactly where these islands are in the real world. These rebellions are also not real wars as you call them. People start burning their own houses and will only stop if you give them the thingst they want.

Great article Pastey! True words about the Rasberry as well - this is a great thing for the next generation of "builders" and will hopefully sweep away the passivity of the current digital experience.
But, as an owner of a "Fruit flavoured fondleslab" and a creator to boot, all I have to say is:
The device is the window - not the world.
Tim.

Populus was designed by Peter Molyneux, so was Black & White

The problem with the fondle slabs, if you can't build on them. When the iPad2 came out I *seriously* looked into getting one. I wrote down everything I use a computer for, and while there were the tools to do most of it on the iPad, it just wasn't enough. I couldn't even develop iOS apps on it. So I didn't bother.

"Afterlife is conceptually a direct ripoff of Black & White. "
Which is impressive considering Afterlife came out five years before Black & White did.
